4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 crossovert (4563) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 23, 2012
The only reason that this beer is rated so poorly is probably becqause it was at winter solstice and there are a bunch of idiots with no palates that attend. A very ncie lager adn a suprisingly nice one. Light but alcoholic but not boozy.

12oz bottle. TIPA color orangish pour with no head. Nose is sweet malt and spices. Taste is very sweet and very flat. No character but sweetness. Disappointing to say the least.

12oz Bottle. Winter Solstice 2011. 11% ABV. 12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! I’m really curious to know how they got this beer up to 11% and kept it this pale. I’m guessing a fair amount of white malt. The aroma has a wild menagerie of mixed fermentation congeners, some friendly petting-zoo barnyard animals, others fierce angry beasts of the deep woods. The beer comes at me with a vicous attack of characteristic Kuhnhenn lactic acidity. If you handed me a sample of this blind, I would say that it was a too-sweet, too-warm, but rather meek Hefeweizen. This beer is not conjuring winter in my mind, instead, perhaps a warm bath, with some lemon-scented bubbles and shampoo that stings my eyes. Odd, indeed.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 boFNjackson (3574) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 6, 2012
Bottle... Poured golden, hazy yellow with a white head. Nose of cracker, biscuity malts with some floral earthiness. Clean tasting. Went down easy. Smooth malt flavors with subtle earthiness. Mild sweetness and some bread-like malts.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 GT2 (5659) - Riverslime, California, USA - JAN 30, 2012
Tap at The Ginger Man in NYC. Pours a clear old with sticky white lacing. Nose is fairly big margarine/diacetyl. Taste is a bit metallic and trashy up front with malt liquor sweetness and macro graininess finishing papery and corn syrup cloying. Hints of fruitiness at the front morphs to wild paper and dry stale cracker.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (6033) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a slightly hazed golden color with a medium ivory white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and hops. Medium body with flavors of fruit, hops and bready malt. The finish is mildly hoppy with some malt in the background. Pretty average overall.

Draught from btiger. Poured a slightly cloudy gold. Fairly herbal aroma and taste. Ok but not spectacular.
3.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 drdisque (377) - Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours bright and clear, hiding its true nature. Flavor is sweet, with vanilla tones and a bit of alcohol burn and fruit. One of the most flavorful and well balanced lagers around.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 50belair (1333) - Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2011
’09 vintage bottle. Clear amber pour with no head. Lots of orange and caramel notes. Kooky, buy good.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 blipp (4784) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - MAY 10, 2011
Draft. Pours golden amber with a thin head. Malty and grainy aroma with a strange sweetness. The flavor has sweet malts and grainy, and something alse that I didn’t really like but couldn’t put my finger on. Really not that bad, but nowhere close to as good as other Kuhnhenn offerings.
