The return of the Metry’s, it is a very light lager in color. It has a light, sweet grainy aroma with Noble hops present. This beer is well balanced and finishes clean. A light beer with a lot of alcohol, so be careful!!

Draft at 2007 Michigan BGWF. Poured hazy amber color with a large frothy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good complex hoppy spicy aroma. Medium body with slick texture. Medium sweet balanced flavor with a moderate smooth bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good interesting winter brew.

Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. My least favorite Kuhnhenn beer, with a rather thin, dry body dominated by caramels and butterscotch, with modest bitter esters. This was a great booth, though.

At Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn...a slightly cloudy, wheaty looking lager - pale, murky yellow without much of a head. Strong wheat aroma, but it is clear that it is a mild lager. Dry malts abound in the flavor, yet some slight honey-sweetness. Not bad at all, really.

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil - I know that many in attendance didn’t care for this beer, but I submit that they were probably not in the mood for a "simple" lager anyway, considering it was a "strong ale" festival - this had a lot of bring fruity notes in the aroma and the flavor - the taste had very mellow, but quite tasty hints of honey and vanilla - notes of pilsner malt, some grassy hops near the finish - I rather enjoyed this one.

Sweet and smooth enjoyed at the brewpub. Malty with good head, grassy hops. A style bender.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2007 Draft at pub (listed 7.2% alcohol), pours medium to dark gold with a full hat of white foam that stayed for a visit, whiffs of bread, pilsner malt, hops, taste that reminded me of a pilsner with lots of malty flavor, some pepper on the palate, has a full mouth feel, hop bite bitterness with malty sweetness, if you like the taste of a lager you will love this, this came off as a heavy duty pilsner with hops, dry in the finish, great brew, I will get this again.

Draft @ Kuhnhenn. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a lasting foamy white head. Nose is grassy, honey. Taste is lots of grass and honey, somewhat sweet and lightly playful in your mouth. A light bitterness in the finish.

Cloudy, straw-colored, little white head. Bitter nose, with sulphur, sour notes, some malt. Funny sort of sweet, grainy flavor. Thin, slightly bitter.

Oh yeah baby another Bock for the collection,Thanks go to FootBalm for sending me this bad boy.Cloudy golden/orange color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind.Sort of a fruity sour aroma with a wheat like character coming through as well.Scratch that it has a belgian aroma in it.This is about as far from being a true bock as i am from being a billionaire. The flavor just is not what you’d expect a Bock to have.Fruity with a citrusy sour side and the hops come through well enough but not in a good way.The brew finishes up with a slightly atringent after taste that kind of hangs on the pallate for awhile.Belgian ale Maybe,Bock i don’t think so,back to the drawing board i think for these guys. It is drinkable but a little dissappointing for the style.
