3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Kuhnhenn Brewpub. 11:47 black with a creamy brown ring atop and sticky lace. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, dark roasted malts and Hersheys syrup. Taste a bit like Hershey’s syrup too with cocoa, roasted malt, mocha, light fruit and some darker malts. Zinde would like this, while not bad, a touch too cloying for me.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a dark brown with small head. The aroma is strong lactose and sugar malt. Thin mouthfeel with nice lactose, rich chocolate, sweet finish, hides alcohol well, very good.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Dark black color. The aroma is down right awesome!! Vanilla bean chocolate, coffee with creamy lactose sugar.
Deep layers of sweet goodness! Lighter body but not light in flavor. Lots of chocolate, coffee and cream and a nice amount of vanilla bean. Some mild bitterness that helps cut the sweet lactose sugars. Not overly sweet. Another fine job.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to whoever for sending this to me. Enjoyed slightly cold and allowed to warm up. Split 3 ways.
A - Looks like chocolate peanut butter sweet milky heaven.
S - Nose is quite nice. Lots of chocolate candies, sweet vanilla and a huge chocolate with some sort of hazelnut french vanilla liquor.
T - The lactose makes this beer awesome. Chocolate roasted vanilla. Just loads of awesome-ness. The sweet creamy notes accentuate the vanilla perfectly. Excellent finish.
M - Oily, sweet and very thick.
O - This is a fantastic beer!

> Tootsie roll type of watery, thin stout
[ Bottle ][ 12oz ][ northernbrews ][ Trade ][ Pizza Boy Snifter ][ 6.14.14 ]
>> 2014 bottling. HP laserjet label. Pours clear sepia, small, tight foam. Spotty lacing. Nose is detergent, amaretto, chocolate covered cherry, milk chocolate candy, tootsie roll. Palate is thinner, ashy, dusty. Taste is tootsie roll, ash, not sticky. Nose eventually opens up to cherry amaretto ice cream. Feels like 8%+ as stated.
>!< weaker body, ashy, too much tootsie roll

Bottle from Sean - thanks! Black pour with a small ring of tan foam. Lactose, coffee, cocoa, and vanilla in the aroma. Taste is nice lactose and coffee with mild hop bitterness and chocolate. Relatively clean mouthfeel. I liked this beer - very non-gnarly for this brewery. Good one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark brown, almost black, opaque, thin cappuccino head. Marshmallow fluff, chocolate syrup, caramel, roasted malt, a little vanilla, and sweetened coffee. Very sugary, but rather thin and flat in texture. Medium-bodied, lower carb than expected, and a bit of metallic undertone in the bittersweet finish.
