COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This mead is the color of dark straw and has aromas of honey, grapefruit, and pineapple. The flavors follow the aromas. It is medium in body and finishes crispy clean.

[4922-20121104] Small bottle. Mead honey-booze aroma hints at wet grapes. Clear, golden yellow body with no head. Boozy honey continues in the flavour with a sweet base. Medium body. Thick and interesting to sample only, for me. (6/3-/7/3/12) 3.1

Bottle... This mead rocks!… Clear golden mead with sufficient legwork. The aroma is a fusion of honey, flora and white wine. Full-bodied and velvety with no carbonation. The flavor, much like the nose, is comprised of sweet honey, white wine and flora. Finishes sweet and hearty with a kiss of acidity. Reminiscent of a 50/50 blend of Apis Jidwaga and Empire Royal Mead. A world class bottle of mead shipped to me by KickInChalice!

2012-11-04. Crisp dark golden yellow body, headless. Sweet honey mead aroma, light alcohol, some hotter alcohol notes if you leave your nose in the glass a bit longer. 7+ Flavour is similar, sweet honey mead core, light white wine notes, and mild alcohol. Sweet sugary honey lingers in the finish with a mild wine like fruity character. 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate is not particularly carbonated. 3+ Decent mead, bit hot at times. Bottle approximately a year old from the brewery

Bottle ("New Zealand Pyment") thanks to secret santa. Pours with a deep golden hued body. Still with solid legs. Aromas are sweet, waxy honey, buttery, light oak and spice with a touch of minerality. Fruit. Wine character is light but this mead still smells most excellent. Medium to light alcohol fumes. Vanillin and light tangerine zest. Flavors are sweet, lovely honey character with nice floral notes. Tannin and oak. Some juicy and fruity notes that go beyond yeast esters. Definitely dessert levels of sweetness, but good balance provided by acidity, tannin and alcohol. Not cloying at all. Some mineral notes. Pretty viscous mouthfeel, still, medium to long duration. Minimal alcohol notes. Nice floral, waxy and slightly minerally mead. Nice crispness with a good balance on the finish.

(187ml bottle from Epic Mead Tasting 2011, thanks in part to blutt59 and Mora2000) clear, viscous gold with excellent lacing. Nose of honey, sweet bread, wine barrel, quite sweet, a bit of currants, and leafy greens. Taste of grape and white wine. Too delicious to add more descriptors. Just awesome.

Thanks to blutt59 and thirdeye11 for going in with me on 16 Kuhnhenn meads. This was part of an epic 20 mead tasting. Pours a light yellow color, looking about like white wine. The aroma is full of white wine notes with some honey mixed in. The aroma is more complex. I get some honey, vanilla and white wine notes, as well as some oak and some alcohol. Medium mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy the great mead trade of 2011. (thirdeye11, blutt59, mora2000.) Pours a clear yellow color with no carbonation. Aroma is honey, dry sweet notes, woody notes with some faint grapes. Flavor is spicy and tingly. Slightly sweet but mainly dry honeycomb and wooded notes. Sweet finish.

Bottle shared by BenC - Pours light yellow and still. Smell is light oaky white wine, dry with honey underneath. Wonderfully smooth taste, sweeter than the smell, with a decent amount of honey. Dry white wine on the finish. Very nice, very drinkable, with barely a hint of alcohol showing through.
