Commercial Description:
A brown, Belgian-style abbey ale. Caramel, banana, biscuit and fruity-aromas contribute to the balance of this strong, complex beer. A sweet, bready and caramel flavor follows with a silky, creamy finish.

A- Pours a cola brown hue with a small off white head. Still looks like there is quite a bit of carbonation for the age of this one. S- Smells sweet with hints of dark fruits such as fig and has a citrusey character which is followed by belgian yeastiness. T- Taste is much lighter than expected. Definite hints of citrus from the nose tie into the flavor along with sweet caramel notes that fade away to a long, lingering malt character. Alcohol at the end is more prominent as it warms. M- Medium body with a good amount of carbonation. D- This is another winner from kuhnhenn. I honestly can’t say what this one was like fresh but it seems to have aged very well. Very subtle and balanced. The alcohol is barely present in this one which is surprising considering the 9 percent abv. All in all I think I enjoyed the syrah nine a little better because it added another layer of complexity to this brew but the simplistic elegance of this one really works out in the long run.

Cloudy Murcky Chocolate Brown Color. No Head. Fruity Fig/Prune Sour Rich Malt Aroma. It’s Very Much What You’d Expect From a Sour Brown...Really Nice Aroma! Tart Fruity Malt, Grapey Tang...Very Much Like a Sour Brown, Only Much Less Potent...Rather a Balance of Sour Brown Tartness with Dry Dark Bready Malts. Wonderfully Complex. I Would Keep Ready Stock of This Any Time of the Year.

Muddy brown body with no head. The aroma is caramel, toffee, nuts, plums and cola. The flavor is prunes, toffee, milk chocolate and spiced rum. Medium body, soft with a bitter, warm end.

Bottle, with clarkVV and Sully. This worked really well for me. Hazy brown in colour. Some intense malt characters, fairly sweet, but balanced out by a almost vinous acidity/woody acidity. Dark fruit, berry fruits, caramel and some light banana. This was a very interesting brew, and one which i hope to come a cross again one of these days. Good stuff.
