3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2010 bottle. Pours a brownish-amber color with a thin beige head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, grainy malt and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of cherries, earthy malt, caramel and wood. The finish is fruity with a toasty malt and cherry aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle shared by dudeabide - thanks again, Nate! 2011 vintage. 10.5% ABV. Pours a mostly clear amber with some spots of lace. Has a nice sweet cherry aroma, with caramel, brown sugar, and some old oaky funk. The flavor is tangy, with sweet malts, maraschino cherry juice, cardboard, and some sour fruits, like plums. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a sweet, mildly sour mouthfeel. Way past its prime, but still has its charms.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep ruby and brown colored pour. Not much head. No lacing. Huge sour aroma with notes of cherries. Some raspberry notes as well. Taste is the same with a big sour cherry affront on the tongue.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2014 12 oz. bottle, sent from mista (thanks Geoff), pours an opaque dark mahogany / brown with a small beige head that quickly dissipates / fizzes out. Nose brings out loads of fresh cherries upfront, with some mild wild yeast, and very subtle tartness. Flavour is quite intensely sweet from the fresh cherries without being cloying somehow -- the cherries sit atop light tartness and wild yeast that is all buried. More sips reveal a sort of chocolatey cherry decadent dessert. Finishes slightly boozy and very fruity. This wouldn’t normally be my kind of thing, but for what it is, it’s executed nicely.

Intense medicinal cherry nose. Sharp, astringent, artificial. Like sno-cone cherry syrup, super fake. No way this is 12%, damn guys.

4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
A- Pours a deep, dark, reddish brown color with a very small, off white head that fades quickly.
S- Cherry, cedar, slightly medicinal
T- I was hit with a barrage of flavor. A deep tartness up front moves on to huge, dark cherry notes, sweetness, brown sugar, underlying wood and prickly hints of hop that are almost masked by a slight lingering sourness.
M- Thick with low carbonation.
D- This was an amazing beer that didnt look or smell like it tasted.

2011 12oz bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing! 2011 vintage. Labeled "Cherry Olde Brune". Labeled 10.5%. Mostly clear dark red color. Thin off-white head. Dots of lace. Nice ruby color. Good sweet cherry fruity nose. Cherry cough drop. Some oud bruin type wood notes. Moderate sweet, light to moderate tart, kind of spicy woody taste. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Light slick, light dry too though. Interesting sour red beer. Bigger body, bigger sweetness than typical too. Kind of more sweet than I’d like, would prefer more sour. But good solid stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to taster (shad by alexsdad06). Bottle is labeled Cherry Olde Brune (2011 vintage; 10.5%). Looks solid; a fairly transparent dark amber with thin off-white lacing. Smells tart and malty with notes of cherries and mild sweetness. Tastes like it smells, with more cherries. Some caramel too. Average on the palate. A little syrupy, but good nonetheless.
