Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, minimal head. Balsamic cherry aroma. Full bodied where malt sweetness counteracted by mild baklsamic cherry acidity. Intensely flavourful with vinegar and vanilla. Warming brandy-like finish. Great stuff, by far exceeding my expectations.

Bottle, 10.5% at Spuyten Duyvil as Imperial Olde Brune. Very vinous fruit aroma, very fat cherry. Very dark deep red colour. Almost no head. The flavour is quite sweet, has a lot of cherry flavour. The finish is tart, slightly sour with a good distinct cherry bitterness. Hint of marcipan in the finish, but not bad at all. On the sweet side, but OK balanced by the sourness.

Very dark brown beer. Short lived tan head. Sourish nose, some cherry, some wood. Smooth palate. Rich deep cherry, sweet and sour and tart at the same time. Finishes slightly malty but cherry totally dominates here. Nice fruity sour.

2010 bottle from Hoppymeal, thanks! Dark chocolate, malt and confit cherry in the aroma. Dark chocolate, dried cherres, Mon Chéri bonbons and tart notes in the flavor. Full bodied and slightly alcoholic. Rodenbach Grand Cru mixed with extra dark chocolate. I love it.

Bottle... Mostly clear, very dark, garnet ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma is malty, fruity and vinous – loads of black cherries with gobs of praline and a splash of crusted port. Mildly acetic. Full-bodied with a whole-milk mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Caramely, roasted sweetness is front and center, but flanked by moderate acidity, mild acetity and low bitterness. A touch alcoholic. Tangy, fruity, lightly bitter finish. Basically, New Glarus Belgian Red on steroids. Bottle courtesy of dmschefke!

Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Initial aromas of lots of wood giving way to cherries, and chocolate. Tastes of the same woodiness and tart cherries.
