3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
a very clear pear juice color, no carbonation at all... the aroma is way to weak, only a hint of sweet honey, no alcohol... this is one of the most drinkable meads I’ve had, not overly sweet or alcohol, very restrained taste of honey liquor, wish a bit more was going... recommend

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2011 Clear bottle reads dry orange blossom mead. Has some random numbers as well but I am not sure what they stand for. Pours very very pale yellow. The aroma is loaded full of honey, not overly sweet, sort of floral with notes of citrus, and booze. The flavor is a bit mild. Light orange blossom honey, lightly floral, earthy and almost waxy in flavor. No real booze in the flavor, just light earthy floral honey. Very dry in the finish. Nothing like any orange blossom mead I have ever tried. Good not great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
6oz niply bottle from a recent trade....a mostly transparent and lazy, light pale yellow, no head but rather silky legs running down the sides.... aroma is the most straightforward of the kuhnhenn meads that i’ve been able to try. sweet clover honey upfront with traces of fruit underneath although extremely subtle, at least to me... flavors are much akin to the nose with smooth sweet honey flavors initially, a touch of nuttiness, then a faint citrus fruity twang to follow-up in the rear which was quite nice. still a touch of heat which seems to be present in most of these. lighte bodied and less sweet than the other two before it and probably the most drinkable of the three.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Small little 6.3 oz green bottle thanks to my Secret Santa (sorry, I mean THANK YOU!!!). A bit of a different package than other Kuhnhenn meads. Capped and not corked among other things. Very pale, delicate, clear body. The legs are pretty insane. Strong, sticky, and completely stick to the glass. Buttery, honey, light wooden notes with flowers and orangey citrus following. Clean, lightly grassy. Great! Good sweetness but nice tannins in the back end of the aroma. This is a sweet mead. Taste is honey, sweetness, grassy-floral up front, finishing tannic and slightly dry in the finish with citrus notes. Not super syrupy as some of the Polish meads can be. Not super tannic either. Just pleasant and drinkable. Like a gewurtz. Medium to large viscosity. Quite pleasant.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
In short: A basic flowery/perfumy Mead. Boring.
How: Bottle 375ml. Age unknown. Tasting session with Montreal crew.
The look: Clear light yellow body with no head
In long: Nose is full of flowers, borderline perfumy. Taste is straightforward honey with some light tropical fruits notes and a lot of flowers. Nothing else to say about his. Mouthfeel is what a Mead should feel like. Quebec is crawling with Meads (called Hydromel here) and I find most of them rather boring. If this one was made in Quebec it would just be another run-of-the-mill Quebec Mead but since it is made in USA it is getting high ratings. Or maybe I’m little weird because I don’t care for Meads, baggy pants, rap music and mankind.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This mead pours very pale, almost water-like in colour, with faint yellow highlights. An orangey, floral bouquet sifts through its straightforward fruity honey flavors. The mouthfeel is classy, not too heavy, not too frail, and the finish is drier than the first half of each sip, making this enjoyable to white wine lovers, I’m sure. Quite simple throughout, this will not be too memorable to me.

My first mead, it was very sweet with large alcoholic aroma. Very warming honey flavor, good stuff.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Picked up the day after the 2007 Winter Solstice Party. Thanks again Lori. Pours clear water with a tint of straw and no head to speak of. The aroma is big sweet meadness and a bit of esters. I can almost taste the sweet mead through my nose. Yum. The taste begins with very sweet slick thick rich honey goodness along with a bit of floral essence. As midway approaches a drying sensation pulls some moisture out of my mouth creating a moment or two of refreshment. Toward the finish the honey sweetness returns creating a pleasing sweet finish. Double Yum.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Ibrew2or3. Thanks man. Wonderful mead here. Pours still with a glistening golden body. The aroma is light--plenty of honeysuckle flower and melon scents. The mouthfeel is spot on--not too heavy or light. Great flavor that follows the nose with added tastes of vanilla and very light spices. Very easy to drink mead.
