Tap: Deep brown hue with a small frothy head and good lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate and roasted malts, smoke, bready and dusty esters. The taste starts with a nice lactic twang and bitterness from both the roast and hops. Roasty and mocha overtones with a touch nutty and smoky finish. The feel is smooth with some bite, a bit oily as well. The beer is a solid offering and quaffable.

On tap at the brewpub. Nitrogenated black pour with an enormous serving of toasted froth. Mild aromas of light chocolate, coffee biscuits, and a hint of almond. Light, extra creamy body. Flavors are a bit subdued, making this an extremely easy drinking beer. What is there is quite nice, however. Pleasant, malty base accented by lightly roasted coffee, toasted pine nuts, and mild chocolate. Smooth, dry finish. Very nice, remarkably easy drinking porter.
