4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle #1 of 110. 6oz nip bottle that I decided to crack on Easter. Pours clearish golden yellow with no head or lacing. Aromas of buttery wildflower honey, pineapple, vanilla, and powder sugar. Flavor is pineapple, honeycomb, southeast asian spice, and earthy florals. Finish is slightly dry and long lasting with intense pineapple goodness. Alcohol barely noticeable which is usually the case with Kuhnenn. I was told to age this mead when I got it, after trying it 3 years out that recommendation was spot on. Thanks Ned!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light yellow pour. Nose of pineapple and honey. Taste follows the nose. Not as sweet as others. Pineapple tastes a little tart and somewhat from a candy or dried fruit. Was chowing down a bag of Taco Doritos when I cracked this so that may change things a bit

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle... light yellow color... the aroma is really light, wheres the sweet, where’s the pineapple, a bit of honey maybe some pineapple, but just generically sweet... tastes like a light pina colada, too much alcohol, weird bitter finish, is there pineapple husk in this?... better fruit mead efforts out there

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 Bottle #12 of 110 thanks to FlandersNed. Pours clear gold. Nose and taste of honey, butter and pineapple. Nose is more buttery - almost like a buttered pineapple. Taste blends pineapple into honey very well. Medium body.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Courtesy markwise. Pours pale gold with watery clear hues here and there as well as a decent level of legginess. The aroma is largely smooth sweet honey, a bit of cheap butter, some sweet berries and booze at the end of the draw. I’m guessing the berry fruitiness I’m getting is actually the pineapple but maybe the honey pineapple mixture comes out a bit sweet berry like. The taste has a quick pulse of pineapple and berry fruitiness and smooth sweet honey followed by a mild level of chemical booze and cool cheap butter. Nice stuff.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle… Clear straw-colored mead with no legs - even after several carefully performed swirls of the glass. The bouquet presents sweet tupelo honey, vanilla and peach with a rumor of pineapple. Full-bodied with a fatty mouthfeel and no carbonation. Bittersweet, lightly acidic flavor. Finishes tangy, but also a bit minerally and bland. Bottle courtesy of 50belair!

I did not think I would ever get to try this one. Thanks to FlandersNed for this one in trade. Pours still clear yellow. Nose is honey, pineapple, and a hint of booze with some slight spices. Flavor is similar with the strangeness coming from the similarity in the two flavors- honey and pineapple. Very similar flavors that blend to make a somewhat strange marriage. Interesting and enjoyable, with the pineapple as somewhat vague in the honey mix.
