Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a hazy purple color with a medium sized purple head. Appropriate enough. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy notes, intense blueberries and some cherry. The taste is blueberries, grapes, berries and an earthy finish. Medium bodied. This is what every blueberry wants to be when it grows up.

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Poured a muddy ruby with a thin, diminishing white head. Blueberry cobbler nose. Taste is full of fresh blueberry pie- totally different from Blabaer where the blueberries manifest themselves as a raspberry/cherry blend accentuating geuze and kriek character. Here blueberry dessert is the focal point and comes off a little heavy, sweet, and actually very filling. It is certainly blueberry cobbler all the way with a tart body. But it lacks subtlety.

Tap at 4th Ave Pub. Deep purple-blue with a thin pink head. The nose is lively and tart. A really big, rich fruity nose. Very, very intense blueberry flavour. Soft sweet tartness. There is also a bit of soft lactic character and a little bit of light leathery character as well. Very soft tartness with a lingering fruitiness. There is a bit of clovey spiciness throughout that accentuates the fruit. It’s pretty tasty stuff. I’d like to try it with a bit of age on it, but it still tastes pretty good young.
