3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at the brewpub. This iteration of PITH is a deep amber color with a medium fluffy white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma is pure tangerine with a touch of funk behind it. Medium body with tangerine and other more tart fruits. Slight malt and funk behind it all. The finish is fruity with a tangerine and yeast aftertaste. Good beer all around.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at the GTMW 2011. Pours a murky amber with an off white head. Aroma of strong, bright fresh tangerine. Other notes of bretty, hay, dirt, mild funk. Aroma is nice, but the tangerine stands out. Flavor doesn’t have quite the tangerine punch the aroma does but the tangerine is still present. Nice, sour apple and barnyard notes. Dry, bretty, funky. Lots of each to play around with. Finishes dry and sour. A nice beer, certainly interesting sour with a fruit that you’d think would be ideal but I’m not sure I’ve ever had in a beer.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at GTMW - Pours deep amber with a light tan head. The nose is...wow--a 10 all the way. Pure tangerine, vivid and REAL, lightly soured with a light malt backbone. Taste still has tangerine, but it tastes a little overripe and less pungent. There’s light tartness on the finish, and not much else other than the fruity tangerine--but that’s enough to carry the whole thing. Smooth and well-carbed, this was probably my favorite beer of the fest.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft on tap at Great Taste of the Midwest 2011 (Madison, WI). Pours a nice glowing orange copper pour, touch of haze, small frothy whitish head, small lacing sticks around. Aromas are smack you in the face tangering, really fruity dominance, citrusy bomb and orange dream bar. Light brett. Initial is really fruity, tangerines and lively citrus. Touches of dry brett and funk into the finish, some dryness, bretty funk backs the finish well. Touches of sourness linger, but largely fruity, dry bretty finish is nice. Probably my favorite thus far, the nose is intense. Decent sourness, good bretty dryness, straw, grass, and dust. Some light breadiness, lactic acid and lively tangerine citrus bursts at the seems. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
MiBG summer fest 2011. brownish pour with oak, cherry, sour funk, and sugar in the nose. fresh tangerine and orange burst through in the finish. the same can be said about the flavor. the one drawback for this version was the fact that the tangerine killed most other aspects of the base beer....
