Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is lightly funked with notes of malt and fruit. Medium body with flavors of brett, ripe fruit and bready malt. The finish is mildly sour with a tart fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Some fruit notes, citrus, pear, green apples. Flavor is moderately sour, mild sweet notes, nice tartness. Dry bretty flavor with some fruity sourness. Mild vinegar, straw, grass, mild sweetness. Pretty nice. Slick mouthfeel, nice carbonation. Pretty cool sour base.

I really regret not trying the other fruit infused versions of this after sampling the original. An amazing sour it was the perfect antidote to a string of similar tasting samples. Tart and arid like the desert air at midday it nips at the throat. Without feeling acidic it leaves a light aftertaste which almost made me want to jump back in line for more. Sadly other taps beckoned. If this ever goes on at the brewpub I may just have to make a trip to the area.

Draft on tap at Great Taste of the Midwest 2011 (Madison, WI). Pours a nice glowing dark amber pour, frothy whitish decent sized film head laces ok. Aromas are funky, fruity, touches of pear and cheese, dry dusty brett, cobwebs. Some bread dough, pale malts, and straw, grass. Initial is lighter end of medium with dry straw, dusty brett, touches of lemon, sour apples, and dry dusty brett. Finish is crisp fruit, dry brett, some grass and straw. Backend offers dryness, decent to light sourness. Pretty quaffable, a bit dry and the funkiness grows on the palate. Earthy and barnyardy sour. A bit less complex than I hoped for or as rich. Still, nice.

MiBG Summer Fest 2011. "play in the hay straight". loved this series...insanely refreshing on that nasty muggy day in ypsilanti. medium reddish brown pour with no head. mostly sour and oaky, with subtle sweetness in the finish. black cherry comes out pretty nicely in the aroma and flavor. simple, but nice

Cloudy iced tea colored pour with no head. Very murky and clearly very little, if any, filtering has been done to this beer. There is a overall dry, grainy hay malt quality with notes of apple cider vinegar, some caramel like sweetness, various light fruit notes and a moderate tartness on the finish with subtle hints of cherry. The body is crisp with a medium mouthfeel and effervescent carbonation.
