12oz bottle from 2011 in a tulip. Pours deep brown/ruby with a small head. Aroma of dark fruits, grapes, some spices, caramel and hints of chocolate from the malts, alcohol, and light bitterness. Flavor the same. Low carbonation. Not the best beer.

’11 bottle from Sean - thanks ! Murky rust/cherry colored pour with no head. Light clove, mint, and heavier sweet malt in the aroma. Taste is fairly generic sweet malt with soft spice. Watery mouthfeel. Okay.

2011 bottle from Rayl101. Porus a clear light mahogany color with a minimal khaki head that rings the rim of the glass. Minimal carbonation. Aroma is herbal, with lots of mint, mint-chocolate, and something savory. Taste is sweet with a little bit of alcohol bite. It goes down pretty smooth and tastes better than it smells. I’m not really sure what to make of this beer.

Red pour with a white head. The aroma has a ton of juniper and pine in it as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is similar with the addition of some toffee character to go with the juniper. There is also a hint of dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle:   2011 Vintage, 12oz.   Deep dirty caramel, thin to moderate sudsy sandy colored head, spotty lacing.   The aroma reminds me of a really rich dark pitted fruit, candied in that chocolate covered cherry sort of way.   Also has a slight Creme de Mint aspect.   Very unique aroma, yet I have smelled it before but cannot immediately place it.   It also has a somewhat aged banana/clove aspect, like a really rich German Wheat beer spiked witih cloved, aged for a few years.   Anyways, the aroma on this just keeps the nose guessing, in a good way.   Rich dark pitted fruit on the tongue, clove, banana and bubble gum (oddly enough, like a wheat beer).   Perhaps what I am getting is Kaffir Lime Leaf... at least it reminds me a bit of one of those Stone Epic beers that used tons of it.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes very spicy, with much of the aformentioned bits and pieces.   While not outstanding, in the traditional sense, it was whacky enough that I thought it above many others.   An interesting take on a Belgian Strong Ale.
