This is one of those beverages that does well in tastings because it really stands out but it definitely does not seem to be something that a person would actually want to drink in any sort of quantity. It is a lime, coconut and curry mead. It pours nearly completely clear and is slightly sweet, has all the aforementioned flavors and comes off as a bit watery even at its very high alcohol content. If that sounds weird, it’s because it is and I have to admit that it is impressive to make something this strange that is not actively foul. While I have no intention of ever drinking this again, I am happy to have tried and am also happy my sample was small.

375mL green capped bottle. Super pale, almost clear color. It really comes off as Indian curry, a little cinnamon like curry but cool. Not sweet or even honey like. Flavor is super lean, no sweetness with super long dry spiciness. I like it, coolest mead ever.

Bottle pour into a mini snifter. Pours a pale yellow. Still. Big curry spice in the aroma. Pretty sweet coconut, but the spice really dominates.

> A yellow curry explosion

[ Bottle ][ brokensail ][ 250mL ][ Globe ][ Tasting ][ 2/1/14 ]
>> Pours a clear, light golden with okay legs. Nose is really insane yellow curry, powerful and assertive. Taste is cinnamon, sugar, spices. Palate is thinner than expected with high alcohol thinning it out over viscous honey. Still, easy to drink and lots of fun to try.

Bottle @ GT’s Cat Cabana. Thanks to Derek for this one. Clear golden pour with no head. Really nice vanilla, coconut, and Thai yellow curry. Really nice lime and spicy clove note, lemongrass, and honey. Tons of sweetness on the palate. Honey, vanilla, and coconut notes. Nice Thai yellow curry, lime zest, and lemongrass. A pleasant spiciness and a touch of alcohol Really good.

Bottle in trade from umich43jm, thanks Jason! Pours white gold and fairly viscous. Aroma is cinnamon, clove and curry with a hint of citrus. Flavor follows nose. Flavors of coconut and lime balance out the spice. Nice.

2013 375 ml bottle. Pours clear pale yellow, still. Nose has a lot curry mixed with some tropical fruit, cinnamon, and lime. Taste is moderately sweet with some very nice spice to it. The lime brings a light tartness to finish and its pretty dry too. I don’t taste much coconut at all. Very nice mead that I sipped on for a long time.

Pale straw color. Nose is lovely -- sweet, savory, and exotic, with lemongrass, green chili pepper, perhaps curry leaf, and a nice mango and other tropical fruit. Mouth isn’t quite as focused but still quite good. More lemongrass, ginger, a faint bite of chili pepper, of course a pleasant honey note throughout. Faintly hot, green chili finish. Good stuff!

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear blanc in color with no head and no legs. Aroma of lime, curry and gingerbread. Honey and gingerbread flavor with a touch of lime before a dry white wine finish.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 6.3 oz. bottle, sent from northernbrews (thanks a lot, Jeff), pours a still, clear yellowish beige. Nose has curry powder upfront, with coconut and mild honey further back. Flavour surprisingly cohesively blends curry and coconut, with a boozy kick and much more subdued honey than a more conventional mead. Warming from the booze but not overbearing. Very interesting and enjoyable mead.
