3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 brystmar (458) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Thanks Ethan -- a toast to your health!
Sweet raspberry and strawberry fruits greet the nose. Smooth, flat, spicy on the palate. Minor daiquiri twinge at the back is reminiscent of Baskin Robbins' Daiquiri Ice.
Absolutely delicious. And, in true Kuhnhenn fashion, tastes completely devoid of alcohol. No idea how they manage to hide this much booze in their beer & mead.

6.3 oz. bottle, sent from northernbrews (thanks a lot, Jeff), pours a clear, completely still, pinkish red. Nose is full of raspberry-infused honey, lots of booze and a perfumey quality. Flavour is very boozy and potent, with lots of honey, booze and honey coated raspberries, booze, honey and booze. The raspberries are not very far forward, leaving mostly honey and booze. However, the boozy quality is not that overbearing on the palate - it just warms the inside. Delicious stuff.

Light pink pour from Lt Dan. Aroma of berries and some lemon lime notes. Flavor is sweet and the berries and citrus carry right through. Fun mead for sure.

6oz nip thanks to LtDan at RBSG Grand Tasting. Clear, pinkish to peach pour. Flat. Nose is Kool-aid burst, sugary kid’s squirt drink, light phenols. Taste is sugar, Kool-aid, push-pop. Interesting, some spicy character and liveliness on the palate gives it a mixed drink sort of flavor. Not my style really, but enjoyable. The fiance really loved it.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2012 Bottle, compliments of Allen, pours a Zinfandel color, pinkish clear with thin head and lace. Aromas of dark berries, potpourri, Honey, and raspberry. Taste is blossom honey, cranberry, full flavors of floral honey and fruit. Silky palate. Really digging the meads these days.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 burg326 (2326) - Florida, USA - JUN 22, 2012
6oz bottle that poured a light pinkish straw color. Aromas of honey, light booze, and some berries. Flavors of berries up front, sweetness, followed by a touch of alcohol burning. Reminded me a lot of the last few ounces of a raspberry daiquiri that has melted away. Nice mead overall, and delivered what it advertised.

Poured from a 6 oz. bottle into a tulip.
The pour is a transparent pink color.
There is a nice raspberry nose, with honey and cream in the back of the nose.
The flavor follows the nose. It is a subtle but smooth, with a long sweet raspberry honey flavor.
In typical mead fashion, it is not carbonated, with a medium body and a slightly syrupy sweetness.
Overall I thought this was a fairly tasty mead.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dunt (215) - Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Brought this bottle to our Thursday tasting. Split 4 ways, so this is a tickers pour. Pours a clear still light pink. Nose is pleasant, but doesnt remind me of raspberries or daquiri. It’s more of a muddled sweet berry character. Flavor is again pleasant, there is a berry flavor and some honey sweetness. Moderate mouthfeel with a long finish. No carbonation whatsoever. Of the three Kuhnhenn meads I’ve had, this is probably my least favorite. None of the flavors really pop to make this stand out against any other mead.
