187ml wax cap bottle from kryptic. 2007 vintage. While this is quite nice, I do think that it needs some cellaring time to temper the alcohol. Luscious aroma of chocolate covered raspberries, butter toffee, wet wood and alcohol. Pours a thick, cloudy reddish brown with no head. Virtually still. Lifeless but attractive. Alcohol and fruit mingle well on the tongue but never quite come together harmoniously. Toffee, chocolate, wood tannin, raspberry and cherry. Thick, sweet but not cloying. Alcohol notes across the palate need to be more restrained in order to score higher. Time will temper.

This is one BIGGGGG beer. Obviously its got a lot of raspberry, some carmel malty notes, and I can’t detect any hops what so ever. The alcohol flavour in this beer is tremendous. Very sweet indeed, and I would kill for this beer to be slightly more tart.

#400. Courtesy of Dragonstout. Pours a dark brown with no head. Aroma is mostly raspberry, caramel, and alcohol. Taste like chocolate covered cherries. Finished with a alcohol presence, then a sweet taste on the tongue. Very good.

2007, Thanks miketd. I couldn’t age it. The initial aroma is awesome. Catch it early because it fades. Pours a cloudy amber. Flavor of raspberries, chocolate and a sharpness I can’t identify. Hides the alcohol well.

2007, 187ml bottle, with a big THANK YOU to Yaniv (yjb)! Pours a cloudy brown with a thin tan covering that quickly dissipates to a thin ring then disappears completely, no lacing. Aroma is stunning, with spot on chocolate covered raspberries and some creamy caramel - absolutely decadent! Flavor is a more of the same, with a nice lingering chocolate raspberry that remains for a loooong time. This is a slow sipper, an absolute pleasure, and an experience I don’t want to end! Jeps, jeg fik også en slurk af denne øl. Det er godt nok ikke meget, når den skal deles i 4. Men tak til Bageren for at medbringe. farven et sted mellem kaffe og cola, semi klar med et lille beige skum Dufter at hindbær marmelade, mørk choko, karameller. Sådan smager den også, plus valnødder og lakrids og en anelse støvet. Ikke voldsom alkoholisk, lidt syrlig bid med lav kulsyre. En lækker lille sag jeg sagtens kunne drikke mere af. Så kom bare med den...........

This is probably the best beer I’ve had so far. I like chocolate, I like raspberries- this has both and does it well. I took a point off for the palate but thats just to be consistent- I give most things a 4 for the palate unless they really stand out, but it was smooth. This beer just makes me happy and I dont know what more I could ask for. Thanks yjb for this one. A nice beer from a nice guy.

6oz bottle 2007. Aroma is chocolate and raspberries with a little pipe tobacco smoke. Deep rose amber hue with a small disappearing beige head that left no lace. Flavor is raspberries, chocolate, spice, and pipe tobacco. Very full bodied and sticky sweet. Just a fantastic experience! From winter solstice quest to savoring the last drop, it has been worth all the effort!
