COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Real raspberries abound in this chocolate caramel after dinner treat. Aged for a smooth texture and drinkability. This lager beer will handle additional age very well.
Original: 10.6% ABV

2012 bottle with daknole and Ibrew2or3. Nice earthy raspberry nose with milk chocolate and a weird Dr. Pepper tone. Pours a clear ruby-copper. A tart and sharp taste of dark berries grabs hold early, with chocolate-covered cherries, wet oak, and a hint of cognac emerging late. The alcohol is quite hidden; I never would have guessed the 15.5% ABV from the taste. A nice beer, but it falls short of the massive hype.

Spirit rainbow coloured. Taste is likewise - doesn’t feel like a fruity beer due to sweet fruitiness on finish and booze.

Incredibly well balanced, vanilla flavor. feels like a liquid dessert. Fits really well for pie pastry.

Bottle. 2007 version. Thx Svend/Enjoyit. Dark with beige head. Aroma of cocoa, raspberries, fruiit and dark malts. Tart, very tart. Also sweetness from berries with an alcoholic, yet mellow vinous flavour. This is as complet as it gets. Great, great beer.

Pour has little too no carbonation. Color of cranberry juice. Smells like rasberry syrup, toffee, malt??? Molasses thickness. Tart, Grapefruit, Tangerines rhines and strong raspberry. Burns going down. Tasty

Acquired in a trade, enjoyed with a friend which was probably a mistake. 2012 vintage should be shared 3 ways...very boozy.

A - Pours a translucent blood red to purple color. Very little head and fades fast.

S - Nose is loaded with bright fruitiness. Smells like a mix of Serendipity and Raspberry Tart from New Glarus.

T - It’s really hard to get beyond the medicinal qualities of this. Cough syrup, throat drops and goose. But there was a lot of fruit like a salad with a ton of cherry, raspberry and apple.

M - Thin, crisp and tart.

O - This is a very good beer but 2-3 ounces is more than enough.

Big thanks to Adam for getting this to me in trade. 2012 bottle with red wax poured in a Firestone Walker Teku on February 13, 2014. Pours bright and dark red with no head at all even with a vigorous pour. Huge sweet raspberry and booze aroma, some caramel or toffee, lots of sweet syrupy sugar smell. So much sweet berry. Flavor is sweet straight raspberry jam, and then some toffee like malts tingling the tongue with plenty of booze in the background. This is very sweet with a thick nearly syrupy mouthfeel but balanced with some light carbonation as to make it more drinkable. Huge flavors in this brew for sure. Made for the raspberry lover. Very nice and a bit hot.

2012 bottle. Dark red without carbonation. Holy sweet fruit aroma. Like Raspberry jam. Chocolate and caramel covered in raspberry. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. Remarkably drinkable for its ABV. Awesome.
