Commercial Description:
Real raspberries abound in this chocolate caramel after dinner treat. Aged for a smooth texture and drinkability. This lager beer will handle additional age very well.

6.3 oz mini bottle. 2004. Thanks to Gonzobeer for this one ! A delicious port wine tawney. With finishing notes of raspberry seeds, caramel, chocolate and a hint of lime. It could have used some more lacing and head... i never got to see what color it was... although the carbonation was very nice. Adding to the taste is a nice oak and smoked but smooth lingering in the palate. It could be one of my favorite brews, but i only got a few sips of it. Dont know why they make it so small? Maybe its strategy to leave you wanting more? It worked. Thanks again to Hanz for sharing.

6.3 oz bottle 2004 vintage. I would like to celebrate this 1700th rating to Sprinkle and Beerprincess for their recent engagement. Sprinkle gave me the bottle in a quick trade about 4 months ago and now i finally got to open this fine little jem of a brew. Thanks a ton Mike! Chestnut hue with a small off-white foam around the rim of the snifter. Beer has a fine haze with some light particulates floating around (i may have poured too much, but with 6.3 oz, i didn’t want to waste any! Nose has a wonderful combination of chocolate, vineous notes, lightly oxidized caramel malt, port wine, tannens, and lots of dark berry sweetness. very complex and so much going on here. not any alcohol noticible on the nose. WOW, now thats a bombardment on the mouth-a conglomerent of chocolate, dark berries, lots of caramel sweetness , red grapes, sweet molassas, with some wine-like sourness. I dont think there is anything else that tastes like this. Finish has quite a bit of alcohol, but is somewhat covered by the wallop of sweet berry notes. finish also displays a vineous-french cask-like quality on the mouthfeal and flavor. I think the alcohol is more present that what alot of raters here think it is. its quite evident in the finish. This brew has a ton of aging potential. I would have to say im overwhelmed by this beer-such alot going on and with a very little sample, its hard to get all the flavors here. there is truely nothing else like this.

2004 bottle from ClarkVV. Good nose, sweet. Chambord like. Raspberry, chocolate, caramel, little viney. Tad hazy brownish, reddish orange color. I poured sediment into a seperate glass. No head or lacing. Bittersweet flavor. Tart. Like aromas. Raspberry, chocolate, viney. Abv shows itself. Medium body, sweet creamy mouthfeel, bitter sweet finish. Don’t quite get it as most seem to. Oh well, everyones got an opinion.

6.3 oz bottle dated 2004. Pours a murky brownish red with a thin fizzy light beige head that quickly dissipates.

The aroma is subdued raspberries, chocolate, caramel, toffee, some wood, and vinous alcohol.

The flavor is sweet chocolate maltiness and tart raspberries, some oak and a crisp vinous slightly bitter alcohol finish. It’s very rich and complex. The mouthfeel is medium full and very smooth.

Overall, a very fine brew! It’s very well balanced and very drinkable. I’m bummed it’s such a small amount (and a bit pricey!).

Bottle (2004), traded for some of my homebrews, shared with Hopscotch and scraff. Rich beer, with nice raspberry aroma and flavor, liked it!

6 oz. bottle, ’04 vintage - many thanks to Eyedrinkale for this trade! Pours a thick, opaque, reddish brown with no head. Aroma is very sweet, raspberry cream, fruity, tawny port-like, chocolate raspberries. Flavor is sweet, sweet like dried raspberry, rich caramel malts, hints of chocolate, pungent notes and definite alcohol presence. Full body and subtle carbonation.

No head on a dark brown body. Nose is raspberry and figs. Alcohol is visible, and there is a slight medicinal note. Flavour is complex, dr pepper and figs, plums and candied dates. Many mediterian fruits and tobacco. Warms to a vanillia. Firm cleaning palate. Stong on rummed fruits, and very light on chocolate.

Bottle. Nose-chocolate covered strawberries. Body-dark red with a thin ring of bubbles. Taste-tastes EXACTLY like fig newtons with a hint of chocolate. Notes of fresh figs, milk chocolate, cherry/strawberry jam, dark sticky fruits, honey, warm bread, slight tobacco. Very thick, sweet, and sticky.
