Commercial Description:
Real raspberries abound in this chocolate caramel after dinner treat. Aged for a smooth texture and drinkability. This lager beer will handle additional age very well.

2004 vintage. This has an aroma consisting of raspberries, chocolate, and a mild hint of sour mash. It is a mahogany colored solution with a glaze of a caramel colored head, but with good lacing. This rich beer introduces itself to the mouth with the sweet taste of raspberries and dates. In the mouth the flavor is a raspberry and chocolate combination. The chocolate taste enters during the finish and lingers well in the throat.

Special thanks to richlikebeer for sharing this wonderful beer. Pours a deep, dark reddish brown. with no head. Aroma is well-balanced between chocolate, caramel, and raspberries. Taste is crisp with raspberries upfront and chocolate on the back of the palate.

Sample BI Indy gathering 2/25/06 - Aroma is strong raspberry, chocolate, and malt. Pours thick red-brown with no head or lacing. Flavor is so nice and delicate. I was surprised the chocolate is allowed to be as strong as it is. The raspberry and chocolate blend together to make it a perfect dessert. Palate is tart and creamy. Great stuff. I need to drink more to justify such a high rating. I’m sure it will probably go up though.

Very thick and dark brownish-red...Smells fruity, like with figs and cherries, more like a barelywine than a "fruit beer". The rasberries are well-hidden, but it smells like cake/frosting - reminds me of cupcakes or something like that...Very heavy...very rasberry flavor with bits of dark chocolate. It has a pleasant tart finish and is not as sweet as I expected it to be. Very, very good!

2004 bottle, huge thanks to Pailhead for getting me this much sought after treat - dark burgundy color with minimal lace - the aroma can best be described as chocolate raspberry cheesecake - VERY inviting - the flavor is similar to this - like a liquid dessert - chocolate takes center stage, but the raspberries, while taking a subordinate role, are what really make the beer shine - only mildly sweet, with a slight raspberry tartness at the end to further cut the sweetness - what can be said that others haven’t said already? - this beer rocks.

Bottle, 187 ml, wax caped, bottled in 2004; eye:dark burgundy with golden brown relections, no head per se, good effervescence; nose: cherry, chocolate, alcool, caramel; taste: lot of sensations, a bit of a tart side to it, chocolate, small fruits, slight tickly sensation on the tip of the tongue, alcool warmth
