Commercial Description:
Real raspberries abound in this chocolate caramel after dinner treat. Aged for a smooth texture and drinkability. This lager beer will handle additional age very well.

Bottle (187ml - dated 2004). Courtesy of Boutip - BIG thank you to him!. MY 1,000th RATING!! Nine months and two days (I started from scratch, too, nothing from notes) after joining RateBeer I have hit it - like a slightly overdue birth. Poured deep murky ruby-brown with a small creamy tan head. Rich aroma of roast nuts, pumpernickel, belgian chocolate, yeast, cream, raspberries, fruitcake and alcohol - God that’s lovely. Taste - oh, man, where do you start? Tiramasu, tart chocolate mousse with raspberry compote, there’s port, sherry, kirsch - this is incredible - thick, syrupy, yeasty, alcoholic, long bitter tart fruit and malt finish - one of the highlights of my nine month rating here on RB. I must get more of this!!!!

Bottled in 2004, courtesy of Silphium (sorry J). This is the best lager I have ever had. Very complex. Raspberries, chocolate fudge, and alcohol dominate. This is an awesome beer.

Deepest thanks to Rastacouere for sharing this gem! This is simply astonishing.
A fully diminushing small fizzy off-white head that tops up a clear very dark mahogany body. No lacing. No particules. Few small bubbles Aroma presents heavy full sherry, raspberries, chocolate... very naughty nose. I couldn’t isolate hops. Also, there are . Initial flavor is heavily bitter raspberries and heavy cholocate/fudge/brownies.. development is warming alcohol and little acidity. Finish is medium.. medium to full body... creamy texture... Fizzy carbonatation. A cake in a bottle.

6.3oz bottle.
A HUGE thanks to Degarth for this beauty. Pours a clear reddish brown with fizzy orange-white head that quickly dissipates and leaves virtually no lacing -- looks almost like a glass of Dr. Pepper. Great big fruity aroma of grapes, raspberries, chocolate and soothing alcohol. Flavor is big-time sweet bready malt, well-integrated raspberries, chocolate, a tiny hint of alcohol (even at the "revised" figure of 10.6% the alcohol is very well concealed) and the barest hint of licorice. Excellent subsantialyl thick, smooth & bubbly palate. Yep, worth the hype. Thanks again to my man Degarth.

(Bottle 18,7 cl) Pours a clear, dark amber with a tiny, beige head. Fantastic and complex nose of chocolate, toffee and some sherry-like accents. Extremely full body with some distinct, warming alcohol. The raspberries add a pleasant - yet discreet - fruitiness throughout, but the chocolate clearly dominates. Somewhat sugary finish. Extremely complex and a very unique experience. Thanks to madsberg for sharing. 120206

Super raspberry fruity, vanilla-esque aroma. Orange chocolate, dark chocolate covered strawberry/raspberry flavor in the body. No lasting finish, but a wonderful flavor in the body. Really enjoyed this. Only got a few drops at the GTMW, so this was a real treat.

Smells of raspberries, chocolate, cherries and a light airiness. Caramel brown in appearance with no head. Chewy, thick caramel impression. White chocolate, raspberries, chocolate dipped orange peel and more caramel. Excellent taste that lingers forever on the tongue, unfolding more delights every minute. Full bodied and complex - I wish there was more of this to try again.

Bottled (Vintage 2004): Burgundy coloured. Small beige head. Sweet, fruity and full sherry notes in the aroma. Flavour of creamy raspberries. Marcipan notes. Ligth acidic. Alcohol is very well hidden. Is quite smooth. Ends on a alcohol note. Nice brew. Thanks to Suiiy for trading this.
