Real raspberries abound in this chocolate caramel after dinner treat. Aged for a smooth texture and drinkability. This lager beer will handle additional age very well.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2006 another rerate here. had this on 12/08/06 at the brewery, this stuff keeps getting better and better my 3rd number 5 rating.RE-RATE 5/7/06 ON TAP AS JTW SAID ONE NIGHT ONLY BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE IN 6.3 OZ BOTTLES THIS ONE WAS DIFFERANT THAN THE 1ST ABV IS NOW 18%. POURED A MUDDY BROWN WITH LITLE TO NO HEAD. AROMA RASPBERRIES AND WHERE DID THAT CHOCOLATE COME FROM MALTS, WITH HINTS OF ALCOHOL AND DARK FRUITS . FLAVOR SAME AS AROMA . THIS WAS NOT AS SYRUPY AS THE 1ST OR AS SWEET. I WASN’T GOING TO CHANGE MY RATING BUT THOUGHT BETTER OF IT BECAUSE THIS BEER IS DIFFERANT THAN THE 1 ST BATCH THEY MADE LAST YEAR. MT 1ST RAINGS WERE 9,5,9,4,18 ON MAY 9TH 2004.THE BROTHERS PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFERT INTO MAKING THIS A QUAILTY BREW AND IT SHOWED THAT WHEN BRET CAME TO THE TABLE EXPLAIND THE PROCESS OF MAKING THIS GREAT BREW WITH THE RBS THAT WHERE AT THE TABLE .WOW. shared a bottle with flemdawg. Poured dark brown wth hints of ruby around the edges, no head with some lacing.aroma ,nice balance of raspberry, raisin molasses.flavor was like the best homemade raspberry preserves I have had got hints of molasses and citrus almost like a tangerine mouth feel was smooth and dry in a good way. This was a very good beer,it would be very good for a after dinner drink or even dessert. Did I say WOW

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2005 Tap. Reddish brown in color, maybe some purple?? A touch murky. Long lived tan head and some lacing. Aroma reminds me of chocolate coated raspberries. Medium to full bodied. Not as cloying as I would have thought. Alcohol is there but nicely subdued. Rich chocolate, caramel and raspberry blend together very well. Wow! Rerate from a bottle. Going to give this one the perfect 5.0 now. Sublime, well-blended, big and potent. This belongs on the upper shelf and would be the deserted island beer.

Unbelieveable beer. It’s amazing this place is 5 miles from where I live. Was not too happy at first about the high price, had one sip, and I would easily pay twice as much for it. Complex chocolate/raspberry taste goes down extremely smooth, changing direction even inch down your throat. 18% and you wouldn’t even think it was %5 from drinking it. I must drink beer

Cute little bottle. Can’t thank walleye enough for this bottle. Absolutely divine. Smell was chocholate covered rasberries, as was the taste. I should write much more about how extravogant this beer is, but only one word can describe it. PERFECT! Thanks again Jim

One of the most incredible beers I have ever had. It’s aroma is chocolate, fudge, and raspberry. The mouthfeel is smooth and not overly chewy. Its flavor lingers and as it warms, it tastes like a tootsie roll. An expensive beer, but worth the money if you’ve never had it.

I have never rated before...nor do I think I will rate much more. But I just had to get this out in words. This is just an outstanding beer. Thanks Jim! HUGE tootsie roll and rasberry fruit aromas and the best part is that the flavor is the exact same...tootsie rolls rasberries and alcohol. This beer is exceptional and outstanding. I never thought a fruit beer could be produced that was this breathtaking. An absolute must try!!!!

poured into small tulip. 2004. wow, wow, wow, good stuff, I was excited for this but did it match my expectations. it is good. pours a dark red with bubbly presence. malty dark chocolate rasberry aroma. dark chocolate rasberry on taste with a mild coffee finish. offers a smack of dark chocolate on the aftertaste. has a spritzy front with a malty finish. talk about complexity, this is it, the middle offers you a peek to what this beer has to offer. it’s like "the chocolate cherry from the heart shaped box" (jay) sweet, complex and good, very good, a wonderful mouthful with complex chocolate, malt, and the rasberry offering the balance... thanks to my BA friend Thomashardy for this treat.
