Nip bottle, 2007 vintage. Shared by Mathieuc, huge thanks! Brown with reddish reflects, no head, no lacing. Aroma is of intense chocolate and raspberries. Taste is sweet, intensely chocolate and strong raspberries notes. Slight acidic presence from the raspberries that help to balance the beer. Sirupy. Warming alcohol. I was surprised by the strong chocolate presence. The bottom of the bottle was tasting raspberries jam. Nice sipper!

Bottle 2012 pours a clear ruby with a thin khaki head. Aroma of raspberry juice and tootsie rolls. Taste similar to aroma a raspberry tootsie roll with a punch of alcohol on the finish. This is delicious!

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 26 July 2013) Dark red colour with brief head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of raspberries, vanilla and treacle. Fruity, malty taste with raspberries, caramel, vanilla, candy sugar and a sweet finish with a slight raspberry tartness. Full body, quite thick and oily. Very sweet and slightly sticky. It’s thick, sweet and dominated by raspberries. So it’s not the most complex or subtly balanced. But it’s still quite lovely.

On tap, probably newest vintage. Pours beautiful tawny red with a dissipating head. Aroma is heavy on raspberries at first glance, mingling with warming alcohol and pie crust-like sweet malt notes, shadowed by an amazing chocolate note. The pronounced alcohol and strong raspberry makes it more similar to a liquor or cocktail than a beer. Very nice aroma! The taste is also more similar to a liquor than a beer, cause it does not really have any bitterness, it has a huge sweetness, loads and loads of raspberries, and a strong warming alcohol, which are the two main dominant aspects. Some maltiness is tracable, towards a hint of caramel and maybe even chocolate. A real sipper. Drink this in stead of a desert wine or a port, cause it falla more along those lines than your typical sipper beer.

Shared bottle with Timfoolery and others. Very strong aroma of raspberry. Tastes of raspberry with hints of chocolate. We paired it with chocolate birthday cake. It cake takes away the medicinal characteristics from the beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from blacknyellow (BA), thanks man. Dark ruby red semi transparent. Completly flat no carbonation. Aroma is raspberry puree and tootsie roll chocolate. Taste is chocolate raspberry and quite a bit of booze, although doesnt taste anywhere near as strong as 15.5%. More like 10%. Good stuff for sure but not for the price.

Big thanks to Adam for getting this to me in trade. 2012 bottle with red wax poured in a Firestone Walker Teku on February 13, 2014. Pours bright and dark red with no head at all even with a vigorous pour. Huge sweet raspberry and booze aroma, some caramel or toffee, lots of sweet syrupy sugar smell. So much sweet berry. Flavor is sweet straight raspberry jam, and then some toffee like malts tingling the tongue with plenty of booze in the background. This is very sweet with a thick nearly syrupy mouthfeel but balanced with some light carbonation as to make it more drinkable. Huge flavors in this brew for sure. Made for the raspberry lover. Very nice and a bit hot.
