2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thanks to Jale for picking this up for me at Summer Solstice, 2011 bottle... pours a bright and clear dark gold, bright white head with a great ring and lace, looks great... the nose has lots of sweet malt and alcohol on the end, a bit of floral musk but pretty muted, this could use some work... the taste is super sweet and alcohol too, doesn’t really taste like a saison at all... disappointed in this one

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Couple year old bottle shared by the Kuhnhenn brothers. Cloudy pale body with a large white head. Perfume and flowers in the nose along with dough, cotton candy and a touch of honey. The taste is light to moderately sweet, lightly bitter with herbal/floral hops, cotton candy and pears; Just a touch of oxidation, but it goes well with the dusty yeast. Medium body is very soft with moderate carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2011 Bottle shared by the brothers K, and on tap. Hazy dark golden, with average white head. Aroma has a nice balance of floral and citrus up front, fruity esters, light pepper. faint grass, light pils malt background. Flavor on par, pils malt comes through a little more. For everything going on, really clean. Could be a tad drier. Medium carbonation. Well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap: The aroma has strong yeasty notes with moderate apple, peach, and faint spice. It’s a transparent golden-orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with a big yeasty kick. There is moderate apple in the middle and finishes mildly spicey with a hint of sourness. I have to say I’m pretty suprised by the overall rating.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
At the brewpub, one additional reason to go there. Bit of alcohol incredibly in the aroma. Yellow with a bit of foam. Bold taste with tartness, then honey and spices aftertaste.Honey offsets the dryness characteristic of this style. Aggressive carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Fruity and citrusy in the aroma with a little funkiness but its very light. Pretty sweet but still pretty good overall. I thought this would be a little higher when i looked it up.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
6.5% ABV. On draft at brewery. It poured with a dark gold color with creamy white head. Nice fruity aroma of tart grapes and some sweet undercurrents. Flavor has a nice balance between several layers of sweet and tart grape fruitiness. Pretty darn smooth making it tough to discern flavor notes. I also detect mild spices floating around the flavor profile. Yet another good beer from Kuhnhenn.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft... Clear golden ale with a small, frothy, off-white head. Grainy, spicy aroma. Tart, tangy, spicy flavor. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. Tangy, dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewery on 10/14/06. Light hazy gold pour with a fizzy white head. Sweet be;gian yeast aroma with a mild sour character. Soft sourness in the flavor, strong sweet belgian like finish with bubblegum/bannana esters lingering on the palate. A slight grassy note. Medium thin body. Not a bad beer but a bit sweet for a Saison.
