bottle. amber with minimal head. lightly sweet with bready malt body. not even a hint of booze. not as hoppy as you’d expect from a double IPA, but plenty of flavor.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Pale amber, orange skewed, thin sudsy white head, little lacing.   Sweaty nose, doughy, with some beefy floral notes.   Seriously, what is going on with this beer?   Can’t smell the 11.25%, so that’s good.   Whoa, also cannot taste it.   Pale breadiness, very light sweetness, a touch of honey.   Not Belgian, and not anything IPA or IIPA like.   A little dusty on the finish, musty, and perhaps more Belgian than I think.   This is an odd duck, for sure.   Not sure what they are trying to accomplish, but I really prefer the standard Simcoe Silly to this one.   Comes across as a yeasty/doughy bready beer with a slight bit of mustiness, without much floral or herbal character.   Nothing about this is Belgian.   I will only say that the 11.25% ABV... is that to be believed?   Thanks Kevin!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big thanks to my sister, ratebeer’s 15_2_Kuhnhenn, for sending me this. The 12oz bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a weak near white head. The aroma offers up sugar sweet Belgian yeast, ripe red apples, booze and sugar coated lime peel and then a bit more booze at the end of the draw. The taste starts smooth and sweet and then it moves into Belgian yeasty spicy notes and then a mix of red apples and raisins. To midway a sugary malt covered lime like citrus hop note comes to the surface. This is a nice sipper.

3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
$7.99/12 oz. was too expensive! Kuhnhenn beers are too pricey, even in their home state of MI. Slightly cloudy light amber. Modest head. Solid body. Little aroma and little Belgian yeast influence. Simcoe taste was enjoyable. Little hop bitterness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From the bottle. Poured a nice honey amber with no head. aroma honey, bananas, yeast, citrus, hint of pineapple and mango ,some alcohol .Flavor, lemon, bubblegum, honey, and the pineapple, got very little alcohol they know how to hide that so it doesn’t dominate. GOOD BEER

12 oz. bottle. Deep amber pout with a small white head. Aroma of big hops, pine, citrus, lots of pineapple. Strong belgian yeast notes. Some banana and clove notes. Flavor is hoppy, nice strong spine notes complimented by banana and clove. Interesting beer, sure, I’m digging this. Medium bodied, strong hoppy finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle received via trade with FlandersNed. Pours clear mahogany with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with spare to no lacing. Aroma is banana, pear, and apple esters with cookie and toast malt, light earthy hops and slight peppery alcohol notes. Flavor is Belgian yeast spices, peppery alcohol, sweet malt, light hops and bitterness, candied fruits, and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of bubblegum, banana, citrus, and light metallic notes. It pours a transparent amber with a small white head that leaves quickly fades to a thin film. There’s some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with banana, residual sugar, and light citrus. The finish has moderate-heavy bubblegum with some light spiciness. It’s full bodied with mild carbonation and somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Overall, it’s a little too much on the sweet side for my preferences.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy orangish brown with no head. Not picking up any aroma at all, maybe slight wet dog, Belgium wet dog since it has Belgium yeast.....Now getting some slight apple spice on the nose. Absolutely no trace of alcohol in the nose or taste. Amazing for 11.5%. Taste is somewhat better than the aroma. Some slight spice, but not much else. I don't know what to make of this one. I thought I was buying the regular Simcoe Silly, which is a great beer. This is the "sillier" version and it's kind of blah. Kudos for no trace of alcohol at over 11% though.
