COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Pale American Belgo style beer was 2010 GABF’s silver medal winner. It has notes of spicy pineapple, mango bubblegum aromas which comes from the unique marriage of a special Bel-gian yeast and an American Simcoe hop. This beer has an initial soft malt sweetness with orange fruitiness and finishes with a hoppy dryness.
A.B.V. formerly at 10.0% and 10.5%.

Bottle thanks to Styles! Poured medium orange with a swirly dusting and ring of white head. Nose was of pineapple vodka with sour orange zest... rather odd and didn’t do it for me. Flavor had an unsettling underlying sourness with very tasty pineapple and perfumey hops... some spices... dry, sour pineapple through the finish. This has the potential to be a solid and interesting brew, but I’m guessing it just wasn’t in good shape.

Pours an incredibly clear and bright copper orange, with a thin ring of white foam. No lacing to speak of, but some thin ’legs’. Perfumy, sweet orange hoppy aroma, fruity like candy, but then again like natural fruit. Then like an orange liquer. Spicy and malty with tangerine and a Belgian bubble gum yeast flavor. Candi sugar is evident. Finishes with a lightly tart fruity citrus - a bit spicy, a bit dry, and a bit alcoholic. Lightly carbonated with body just shy of medium. A complex and enticing brew, difficult to describe, but oh so easy to drink. A kid-in-a-candy-store in a glass.

Thanks to PaleHead for the Kuhnhenn beers!

Rating #1020
Silly pours a pumpkin colored body and a very wispy head. There was little carbonation to the beer but suiting. The aroma is a bit soapy, ginger, plum, pear, lemon grass and coriander. The flavor is a fairly herbal, but sweet and evenly fruity. Thin carbonation but a nice slick and velvety mouth-feel. Overall, a nice beer… I’ve had better Belgian Strongs, but well done indeed!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2007 Tap. The more I drink this the more it grows on me, Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a slight off white head. Aroma is bubble gum, green banana, malt, floral hops. Flavor is the same, with some orange, pear nectar, belgian yeast notes. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Nice stuff.

A hazy golden ale with a thin creamy white head. Aroma is bizarre, with rotted ginger and notes of cinnamon. In mouth, a lightly sourish banana with notes of coriander, oranges, and warmth of alcohol. The bottle is past its prime. not overly bad but not good either.

On tap at ashleys. Pours a very cloudy light brown color. Very murky. Aroma was of lihgt hops and some appliness. Felt a little watery in the mouth. A little banana taste coming through in this. I was very shocked by this, not what i was expecting from the name,

9.5% ABV. On draft at brewery. Clear copper color with lasting thin white head. Nice lacing too. Sweet orange to grapefruit aroma and maybe a bit floral to banana-ish. Nice thick mouth feel with sweet slightly sugary maltiness, sweet hop citrus-grapefruit flavor with a mild amount of tart grapefruit hop bitterness. There was something else there as well. A bit floral and spice or something. Very Nice.

Draft... Hazy amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Bubble gum, banana and faint, earthy, cat piss hops constitute the nose. The earthy, fruity flavor is medium bitterness intertwined with medium sweetness and fuzzy fruit. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. Finishes tangy and bittersweet. Odd bird, this one, but creative and very tasty.

On tap @ Ashley’s: Very cloudy orange brown color with a white head. Aroma of citrus, light malts, and yeast. Flavor, some light citrus, pine, kinda bready with some light spicing. Not what I expected at all, but an interesting brew.
