This Pale American Belgo style beer was 2010 GABF’s silver medal winner. It has notes of spicy pineapple, mango bubblegum aromas which comes from the unique marriage of a special Bel-gian yeast and an American Simcoe hop. This beer has an initial soft malt sweetness with orange fruitiness and finishes with a hoppy dryness.

Bottle from rastacouere. This orange/ amber ale poured with a moderate off-white head, eliciting a floral aroma. There is a strong citrus flavor, with a spicy tangy finish and a rather carbonated mouthfeel.

Draft at Kuhnhenns. Bronze/orange body with small, off-white head, mostly fading. The aroma is Floral, corriander, fresh citrus, apricot and banana. The flavor is banana, lavender, citurs with some pepper. Medium body with a soft and slightly sticky texture.

I have had this at the brewpub, but this version was sampled at Mondial 2006. The body was bright orange with a white head. The aroma was grapefruit and fruity peaches. While obviously hoppy, it’s fruity hops. The taste is sweet grapefruit and cherries or pears. A little heavy on the carbonation. The finish is also alcoholic.

Bottle: Orange in color, fairly clear, moderate to thin sudsy white head, whisps of lacing, no noticeable carbonation.   Fiery alcohol on the nose, bright malts, a bit of orange peel and pine.   Large orangy flavor, lots of sweet citrus peel, comes across as more of a Fruit Beer than anything.   Slight heat, slightly yeasty in the belgian sense, but overshadowed a bit by the citrus/pine factor.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Tangy finish, semi-sweet, with a bit of heat on the trailer.   Interesting, but not my idea of a Belgian Strong.   More of a strong Fruit Beer or something.   Thanks to kramer17801 for the bottle!

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2008 Growler. Pours hazy orange gold. Smells hoppy with a good bubblegum sweetness. Sweet, bannana and bubblegum sweetness with a touch of spice. Fineshes with a nice dry and piny hop kick.

Has a decent cloudy amber body, with little head. Has a nice hoppy aroma to it. Flavor is decent, slightly orange flavor, although it seems kind of light and empty. Body likewise is kind of light, with the right amount of carbonation. Overall, it’s decent, but not spectactular.

brewed 3/14/05 hazy off light orange color w/ a whispy white head and a tiny bit of light lace. Aroma is pretty big and malty orange cream aroma w/ hints of pepper, it smells pretty big. Palate is well coated and lightly creamy good character. Flavor is nice, very subdued. Full malt lightly carmel w/ sugarz w/ a little belgian style yeast then a nice full passion fruit and tropical fruit hop flavor. Very nice.

Pours a lightly hazy dark golden with a thin wispy white head. Interesting complex black peppery, banana and orange citrus aroma has some bready yeast and sweet caramel malt. Starts with a sweet banana and orange citrus flavor well-balanced with an earthy, lightly-spiced finish. A tasty Belgian strong ale.

Poured a hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Sweet and hoppy aroma. Big floral and citrus notes. Flavor of oranges with tart acidic notes and just a touch of bitter. Light bodied. Pretty good.
