COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Pale American Belgo style beer was 2010 GABFís silver medal winner. It has notes of spicy pineapple, mango bubblegum aromas which comes from the unique marriage of a special Bel-gian yeast and an American Simcoe hop. This beer has an initial soft malt sweetness with orange fruitiness and finishes with a hoppy dryness.

Fruity sugary aroma, gorgeous orange rust color, sweet fruity taste with some lingering bitterness, in the middle the bitterness is not much of a factor, alcohol not really noticable,a real Belgian classic

Draft at 2007 Michigan BGWF. Poured hazy golden color with a moderate white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Good tart citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Good well balanced malty flavor with a moderate smooth balanced finish of moderate duration. Good beer.

Draught at Coleís in Buffalo, NY. Pours a hazy golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Mild, fruity aroma, a little sugary with some spices and a hint of hops. Flavourís more mellow and subtle then I expected, itís sweet, yeasty and spicy with a light bitter finish. Alcoholís incredibly well hidden. Decent body for the style. Iím still shocked how mellow this beer is but I quite liked it, a pretty good version of the style.

Draught. At Coleís in Buffalo NY. Slightly hazy reddish-amber pour, a small off-white head - looks very nice. Pungent herbal hop aroma, plenty of sugary malt and only a hint of alcohol - odd mix, not sure it works, but soldier on. Tasted like a watered-down tripel - plenty of sweet malt and alcohol, very light spice and banana flavours admixed, herbal hops and more booze in the finish. Very light body, excellent carbonation, very sweet up front with a bitter, dry back end - a little thin, but qutie well made.

Bottle thanks to Styles! Poured medium orange with a swirly dusting and ring of white head. Nose was of pineapple vodka with sour orange zest... rather odd and didnít do it for me. Flavor had an unsettling underlying sourness with very tasty pineapple and perfumey hops... some spices... dry, sour pineapple through the finish. This has the potential to be a solid and interesting brew, but Iím guessing it just wasnít in good shape.

Pours an incredibly clear and bright copper orange, with a thin ring of white foam. No lacing to speak of, but some thin ílegsí. Perfumy, sweet orange hoppy aroma, fruity like candy, but then again like natural fruit. Then like an orange liquer. Spicy and malty with tangerine and a Belgian bubble gum yeast flavor. Candi sugar is evident. Finishes with a lightly tart fruity citrus - a bit spicy, a bit dry, and a bit alcoholic. Lightly carbonated with body just shy of medium. A complex and enticing brew, difficult to describe, but oh so easy to drink. A kid-in-a-candy-store in a glass.

Thanks to PaleHead for the Kuhnhenn beers!

Rating #1020
Silly pours a pumpkin colored body and a very wispy head. There was little carbonation to the beer but suiting. The aroma is a bit soapy, ginger, plum, pear, lemon grass and coriander. The flavor is a fairly herbal, but sweet and evenly fruity. Thin carbonation but a nice slick and velvety mouth-feel. Overall, a nice beerÖ Iíve had better Belgian Strongs, but well done indeed!

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2007 Tap. The more I drink this the more it grows on me, Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a slight off white head. Aroma is bubble gum, green banana, malt, floral hops. Flavor is the same, with some orange, pear nectar, belgian yeast notes. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Nice stuff.
