Nightfall (1306) - Hamburg, GERMANY - JAN 4, 2012
Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, Ulfborg 2011. Dark brown almost black, nice foamy brown head that doesn’t last long. Very roasted malt aroma, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Sweet and roasted malt taste, coffee, caramel and chocolate. A warming light alcoholic burn as you shallow makes you aware of it’s high ABv, but I would have never guessed 18% as it is very well hidden, nice one !

Bottle. Thanks Theis. Pours opague black with a medium tan head. The aroma is loads of cocoa, sweet caramel, chocolate cookies. This heavy shit! Overly sweet flavour with notes of port, caramel, chocolate, light coffee and sweet over ripe fruit and sugar.

Alcohol roasted malts and dark fruits. Some licorice. Black, some brown edges. Surprisingly night tan head. Alcohol taste, faint chocolate and roasted notes. Not very dynamic. Carbonation is stingy. Too crisp.

9/24/11. Growler shared in line waiting to get into BA Hunahpu’s. Rich black pour with brown edges and a small tan head that fades fast. Rich aroma of ash, molasses, alcohol, and fruity notes as well. Very rich flavor of ash, char, coffee, and rich fruitiness with a touch of alcohol. Nice!
