9/24/11. Growler shared in line waiting to get into BA Hunahpuís. Rich black pour with brown edges and a small tan head that fades fast. Rich aroma of ash, molasses, alcohol, and fruity notes as well. Very rich flavor of ash, char, coffee, and rich fruitiness with a touch of alcohol. Nice!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 33 cl, trade. Pours oily pitch black with a small brown head leaving just a rim of bubbles around the beer. Aroma is heavy of sweet molassis, roasted malts, dark fruits, soy, chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Flavor is fullbodied sweet, roasted, meaty, soy, fruity, dark fruits and bitter. Finishes bitte meaty roasted and bitter. Maybe a bit too boozy but I think the sweetness mates well with the heavy body and alcohol, very much in my taste,

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pours purplish black with almost no head. Aroma dark fruits, roast, molasses, coffee. Flavor mainly just dark fruits and booze, a little soy. Finish a continuation of the flavor with alcohol burn. Palate full and thick, not sticky or syrupy. Alcohol very apparent.
Pretty good but definitely a sipper or one to share with friends.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Artusory. Super boozy aroma, totally ridiculous harsh. There is definitely some chocolate malt in there but its masked by pure vodka/rum. Theres a huge head on the pour but its quickly destroyed by the alcohol. Flavor is actually quite nice, behind the booziness there is a wonderful plummy sweetness are rich chocolately notes. Fruitier than a normal IS, the sweetness really does this well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Boom! Gunshot opening! Pours a black body with a foamy, extremely short-lived beige head.
Smell: Black malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, charred fruits, nut ash, coffee.
Taste: Dark roasted grains with a snap of sugary sweetness. Tastes of chocolate, coffee, prunes, burnt nuts and creosote struggle to remain cohesive. Hot finish, baby! Hot finish cominí thru!
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Moderate carbonation. Very warming all the way down.
Drinkability: About as fine and drinkable as really any of these high octane stouts possibly can be.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to hopdog for sharing this one. Pours a deep black with a medium creamy/bubbly deep tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, smoke, sweet maltiness, cocoa and tabacco...abv well hidden in aroma. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, molassess, toffee, nuts, bitter chocolate and the alcohol is coming in a little more in the flavor.

Thanks to miketd for #500, my first Kuhnhenn brew. Pours black with a billowing, crisp, light brown head that settles to a dense creamy head with the best retention Iíve ever had on a beer, sheet lace. Smells sour and roasty malty, complex dark fruity flavors. Pretty sour and acidic as well. Medium to thick body with active carbonation.
