2012 bottle - Very similar to BA version. Dark gold pour. Nose mostly of vanilla and honey. Taste follows the nose. Pretty one sided but a great desert wine with lots of sweetness.

3 oz pour at 2013 Winter Solstice. Pours a clear light yellow color, still. Aroma is potent, strong vanilla with honey and a touch of alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet and is dominated by vanilla. Somewhat boozy finish with a slight alcohol burn. Pretty good stuff but just too much vanilla for me to enjoy more than a 3 oz pour.

Pretty one-dimensional. Its sweet, watery and it has vanilla. No complexity whatsoever.

Nip bottle. Pours a crystal clear light yellow color with zero head. The aroma has honey, vanilla, sweet fruits and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet honey, vanilla, some citrus and additional fruits with some alcohol. Very smooth and meant to be sipped.

Sample at home. Pours clear light gold with no head. Aroma are very sweet with lots and lots of vanilla, rum, coconut and some floral notes. Mouthfeel is smooth and taste is also very sweet. Huge amounts of vanilla, but also some chemical notes along with flowers. Warming finish. Awesome mead!

Small bottle, sent from St. Fun (thanks a lot, Josh), pours a hazy light golden with no head. Aroma of honey, bourbon, and loads of vanilla - very rich and bourbony and honey. Flavour brings out loads of vanilla above anything, along with honey and bourbon. Never had something so monolithically vanilla. Alcohol is very present, with a lingering finish of vanilla and bourbon. Excellent mead.

Pour out of 8 oz bottle, thanks Stephen! Clear yellow pour with no head, aroma brought notes of vanilla, honey, lemon, some nice apple, slight earth. Taste is very sweet sugar, honey, lots of vanilla, finishing fairly sweet. Good, but hard to drink a ton of this.

Bottle at the Colorado Mead Tasting ’12. Pour is golden yellow with no head. Huge sweet vanilla, honey, light pear, nutty aroma. Taste is rich honey, vanilla syrup, amaretto, sweet cherries, honey, and pears. Syrupy mouthfeel with no carbonation. Another sweet mead from Kuhnhenn with well-hidden alcohol.

Colorado mead tasting 2012 - I am not a fan of vanilla that overpowers in the aroma - it always winds up smelling like pancake batter to me - that’s what this smells like to me (with a touch of coconut) - taste is very boozy, especially in the finish - strong vanilla flavors throughout - a bit of bourbon character - a bit of white grape in the finish - like the last one I tried, tastes much better than it smells.

2012 Colorado Mead Tasting at Armin’s house. Thanks to Stephen! Pours a clear light yellow appearance with no head. Rich vanilla, honey, green apple aroma. A touch thick, flaming vanilla bean, light lemon, sweet honey flavor. Easy to drink and tasty.
