2009, Bottle 18,5 cl, tnx to Greg. Pours clear clera golden orange, very beautiful color. Aroma is sweet honey floral caramel straw butterscotch and alcohol with a slight touch of oxidation or sun strucking. Flavor is sweet, very slightly acidy sourish, fruity in front, a short quickly dissapearing touch of acetone in the middle together with the fruits and some berryness finishing with some astringency warming alcohol and tingly pungent peppery feeling on palate. Very nice in my taste, like the changes in flavor along the way.

Dark golden pour with the usual no head. Nose is just straight honey wine with really no other elements. Taste follows the nose. As a straight mead very good but if it is trying to be something else I am not sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Fin & Loz’s tasting with Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella & kids consumed 21.10.11 Thanks for bringing this along Craig! Golden and syrupy from the start off, really quite thick in the mouth, good clarity to this though. A touch of fruit skin in the mouth and there is a little tanginess amongst the obvious honey sweetness, I also get some Opal fruits. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Bottle pours gold with plenty of viscosity. Aroma shows notes of plum, apricot, and honey. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of what seems like peach and a touch of spice.

Tons of plum (obviously), concord grapes, tart red plum skin, powdered sugar and honey (obviously). Big sugary legs. Sweet but not cloying...man do I love Kuhnhenn meads!

Bottle at Max and Jess’s housewarming. Still golden pour, almost syrupy. Sweet plums and other dark fruit, sugars and almost candied tangerine and peachy tones.

Bottle shared with friends. Pours a brilliantly clear golden color with no head or bubbles whatsoever. Aroma is a really nice with sweet plums quite evident, some spice and honey with the alcohol very well-hidden. Taste is much the same with sweet plums and honey engulfing the palate with a light bitterness, perhaps from the plums, providing some depth to the sweetness as does a light spiciness. Not overly sweet or cloying. Alcohol is incredibly well-hidden making the drinkability very high. Mouthfeel is thick and oily but pleasant. Very good stuff that I’d definitely like to revisit.
