This is one odd beer but you know what? its pretty good. A lightly tart weizen bock with nice sweet body and a dry spicy finish. Pleasent and enjoyable.

Thanks to mike m, I really like this one. Good strong banana and clove flavors, sweet and decent.

12 oz. bottle, sent from northernbrews (thanks a lot, Jeff), pours an opaque dark mahogany with minimal beige head and lots of sediment. Aroma is full of banana and clove, typical of a weizen bock, mixed with some very nice spiced dark fruits. Flavour is unusually tart for a weizen bock -- none of this coming through on the nose -- there is a bit of the clove and banana as noticeable on the nose, but the weird light tartness seems to characterize this one. Given that tartness isn’t something I see described in most of the other views, I wonder if there is something wrong with this (wouldn’t surprise me given Kuhnhenn’s QC). It’s not grossly offensive, but it’s not enjoyable either. Got to be something wrong with this.

Pretty dark amber pour with a big off white head. Kind of like taking the last bite out of a red tootsie pop for the flavors here. Some bacon umami notes and a kick of sourness. So odd, so kuhnhenn. Fun.

Draft. Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Wheaty base, with sweet caramel, light spicy yeast, lighter fruity notes, and toasted bread. I was hoping for a little bit more from this one, still pretty good though.

Draft at the pub. Pours a murky orange-brown color with a slight head. Aroma is fruit and wheat. Plums, figs, caramel malt, wheat, dark fruit. Taste is slightly sweet and very malty with a pretty big plum and fig fruit flavor. The finish is very wheaty and smooth. One of my favorite styles and this does not disappoint.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Murky deep orange-brown body, medium to thin clumping beige head. Nose of circus peanuts, toast, and cocoa powder. Nice, rich body, somewhat roasty, with circus peanuts, cocoa, and brown sugar. Hints of warming alcohol clean up the malts. Very good.
