3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pour. Dark, blood-red brown. Small, slightly off-white head. Minimal lacing. Concentrated nose of banana bread (truth in advertising!): fruit, nuts, butter, brown sugar and a hint of spice. Surprisingly constrained and not overdone. Kudos. Taste follows, with earthiness from the Maca root. Brown sugar from the nose is supplanted by caramel notes on taste. Banana shows most on finish, which is dry and consistent with brown ales. Typically not a fan of banana beers, but this one works better than most. I would actually have a second. Much better than expected.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma is banana. A bit thick in body with light carbonation. Flavor is not as banana as the nose with some nice nutty flavors

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from half time. Pours dark, dark brown but pretty light on the viscosity. Smells like a banana now and later which immediately transports me back to my childhood. Tastes like banana but not with the same intensity as the nose. Finishes clean. It’s quite a unique beer.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. The aroma of this beer is extraordinary; just like fresh baked banana bread. Ample bananas, brown sugar, and even walnuts are all present. The flavor is very good with malt, caramel and plenty of banana. Mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown with a thin head, this beer epitomizes banana fosters. With bananas in the nose and taste, what makes this beer really special is the subtle caramel malts, and slight toasted nutty taste.

3.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bert’s
Pours a solid dark brown with garnet highlights at the edges and a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. My God that smells exactly like banana bread, that is an awesome aroma! Sweet caramelized brown sugar and banana with hints of nuts and vanilla with a touch of earthiness. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet bubbly mouthfeel. Loved the aroma, the earthiness in the flavor which I assume is the maca root distracts me a bit from enjoying this more.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 Tap at a tasting event. Reddish brown pour. Banana and walnuts. High carbonation. Almost too strong and a bit artificial banana taste and aroma.
Subsequently had this from a bottle. Banana aroma and flavor are less artificial. Pretty good

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drought at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Reddish brown, very small white head, strong banana aroma, high carbonation, pervasive banana flavor, abrupt finish with a banana aftertaste. A bit strange but very nice.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
2oz sample at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Pours brown with a thick head. Wow just as it's named! Aroma is fresh baked banana nut bread. Taste is also freshly baked banana but bread and roasted malt. This was the stand out beer of the festival for me!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/19/14
Aroma: The aroma is earthy and nutty, some roasted malts, and plenty of banana bread
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a clean sheet of beige head
Flavor: The flavor is roasty/nutty and a little sweet, and a banana bread finish
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light for the style, soft carbonation, and a short finish
This one is pretty nice. It isn’t quite as banana bread as Wells, but it is quite reminiscent of that beer component-wise. The roast and nut flavors come out more up-front, but the banana bread stars in the finish and lingering after taste.
