4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer was GREAT. Nose and palate of chili peppers, it was great for warming up to in the winter, but I’d love to have it with some light summer fare as well. So good!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet grainy malty aroma with a good deal of dark fruit. Pours very dark mahogany with an off white head that fades fairly quickly leaving faint residue on the glass. Sticky sweet. Malty. Fig, prune. Nicely boozy. Clean with a fairly thick mouthfeel. This is a really nice beer.

Oily rich. Spicy and fruity. Warming. Very Christmasy. I quite like Eisbook actually. I like the fact the alcohol isn’t hidden. I should drink more of this style.. in December.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great eisbock, exactly as it should be: dark, strong, full-bodied without being heavy, rich, even complex. Notes to plums, raisins, marzipan, cake and liquor. Excellent with a dessert or a cigar; extraordinary by itself.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Biermuseum Koln, large sample. Clear dark brown color with a reddish glow, short head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, molasses, caramel malt, hint of alcohol. Bit sweet, bit bitter. Nicely balanced and good complexity. Lovely classic german eisbock indeed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black bodied and small head. Thick brown sugar, bit if roast perhaps but mostly a concentrated liquorice sweetness. Taste is as expected from there on. Very sticky ending. For the abv it isn?t even too much, but generally speaking it?s sticky, sweet, alcohol and rich. It?s the style, but I?m not a real fan. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
My first eisbock! Pours dark with a thin large-bubbled lingering head. Appearance is oily like a red wine.
Aroma: booze, along with licorice with some banana and vanilla.
Taste: is that chinotto? Quinine? Booziness like a rum and coke. Vanilla and cherries. No hops noticeable.
Oily mouthfeel with lingering boozy aftertaste that’s almost chewy.
Slightly boozier than I prefer, but intriguing and quite tasty. Recommended.
