Bottle: Golden coloured, small and quite stable white head; grainy, a bit sweetish nose; light sweet bitter flavour, light bodied to watery...; short sweetish-grainy finish. Drinkable, but very thin...An insult to other franconian brewers (Kulmbach is - believe it or not - situated in Franconia....) !

Feb 2010: Brown 500ml bottle poured three times into a ’Veltins Pilsner’ stemmed tulip. Standard pils/lager look, bright, clear and mid-golden in colour (lighter than a Dort). Lovelly snow white head sat on top of each pour. Trails of bubbles could be seen rising up through the beer, so plenty of life, or at least well carbonated. I struggle to find much aroma from most lagers, this was no exception, gets my average score of 3 for smell. Refreshingly crisp with a dry bitterness towards the end of each gulp. I thought I detected corn or wheat more than barley at first, but it became more like a regular German lager/pilsner as the tasting progressed. No huge flavours, just a well balanced light coloured Export Lager. The label said it was ’Wurzig-Mild’, can’t argue with that!

330ml bottle poured a pale golden color with a big white head that settled quickly leaving little lacing behind. Aroma is light grains and some flowery hops. Taste is light malty sweetness and light hoppy finish. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation and decent mouthfeel. An average lager style beer.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pale gold, big foamy head. Fridge ice aroma with a waft of egg and some lager hops. Taste is dry, some mineral, some cereal, mucky bitterness in the finish. Overall impression is of a cheap global lager. Not good, but drinkable.
