wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Rovaniemi over summer, Finland May 2, 2008 Brassy straw hue and a clingy, thick white foam. Soft dried herbs coast gently over lightly toasted white bread. Malts and hops, both mild, find balance throughout and drying out into a long, bitter draw. Soft on the tongue with sprightly carbonation.
Promising, tasty and even powerfully bitter at times, but it lacks a certain elegance...
50cl bottle, best before 21.11.2008.
CanIHave4Beers (147), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jul 18, 2008 Aroma is of hay and bread dough. The beer is a nice golden color and is very clear. The head is very nice and white and sticks around without much lace to speak of. This tastes very nice like Bavarian beer ought to; it is very clean and crisp and has flavors of light sweet malt, honey, and a nice hop flavor. The beer is easy to drink but has a good sharp palate. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Jul 6, 2008 50cl bottle @ gasthof, southern Germany. Pours clear pale yellow with a white lasting foam. Sour, grainy, corn, hayish, sweaty, bitter. Very much a dortmunder. Fresh! FatPhil (1965), Espoo, Finland Jun 19, 2008 500ml bottle (alko)
Straw coloured, scummy head. Classic lager/pilsner aroma - light grains, hops, and even a dash of lime. Yes, not a very inspiring start, I know. Slightly fizzy in the mouth. Taste, slightly papery hops, rather thin on the malt, a slight sour note perhaps. Even a bit watery in places. Pretty full pilsnery bite, but this really is just another boring vaguely-competent lager. pintbypint (877), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada May 6, 2008 500ml brown bottle. Yellow colour, retains a nice sized frothy white head which leaves a lot of sticky lacing. Grass/hay aroma. Flavour is grainy, grass and herbal hop notes. Light herbal bitterness in finish. Light body with a soft texture. Decent.
