Draft at Tap and Mallet in Rochester. Pours deep ruby with a beige head. Lightly roasted aroma with a caramel note. Medium body. Flavor is again roasted malt with caramel and semi-sweet chocolate. Nice.

Ruby / amber with thick brownish head.
Aroma of sweeet caramel malts and grain.
Taste was slightly roasted, thick mouthfeel with grains that leave this typical pilsner aftertaste.
It is a good schwarzbier but nothing that helps is stand out from the lot.

Aug 4, 2008 7/5/08 at the Seattle International Beerfest. Aroma is roast plum. Appearance is dark brown with a moderate maintained cream colored head. Flavor is roasted grains with some cream and dark fruit; very clean. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a grainy carb texture. Overall, great dark grain influence; refreshing .

Aug 3, 2008 Partyfass. Pours a Pours a clear red/brown with a small tanned head. Smells nutty. Sweet with aromas of caramel and a bit of burnt grain. Tiny hint of eggs. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Mellow bitter finish.

Jul 28, 2008 Partyfass. Almost black with a medium sized tan head. Malty and toasted with notes of chocolate, toffee and grain. A bit too sweet and not enough burnt and roastedness - but otherwise fine.

Jul 22, 2008 Swing-top bottle. Pours black, with a huge, airy tan-colored head. Sweet aroma of dark malts. Chocolaty flavor, with plenty of malts and a nice hoppy background.
