4.9% Bottle from Wurzburg station drunk waiting for the train. Pale gold lasting white head. Pale malt bit of newspaper and then some lemon hop. Classic helles. It’s fine. Highly drinkable and I like the lemon finish. I know I shouldn’t like it but I do

Kein Hopfenaroma, aber auch kein übertriebenes Malzaroma. Irgendwie langweilig, ein bisschen Hopfen_aroma_ waäre nicht schlecht.

50cl fliptop. The dreaded omnipresent Kulmbacher Mönchshof, successfully steered clear of in Coburg, came back to haunt me at the local Edeka in the guise of a last-minute cash register bargain...Kitschy water-colour label imparts an inkling of, but does not prepare you for, the aroma of cardboard and incipient paint thinner, only an easel is missing. Stale, diluted sweetish bread taste, watery palate, intimations of hops (hop extract again)... Nothing extraordinary vile here, just cynically bland and contributing to Bayrisch Helles’ slowly declining rep.
