Jonb5 (500) - Greater London, - JAN 31, 2013
Very pale colour, clear, medium thin head which was quick to fade. Aroma was grassy and hade notes of red cabbage, reminded me of beers brewed with Saaz hops. Tasted slightly watery, notes of honey, grass and grain. Finish was bready and sour dough like. Texture was slightly syrupy, soft carbonation, coarse edge which I didn’t understand the origins of, given the other aspects of the mouthfull. Easy drinker, but with less character than other Helles from the region. Not offensive and would take it above the Monschhof Pils.

Pours golden with medium quickly disappearing foam. Aroma is classical lager - malts, grains, some cardboard, sweetness. Taste is creamy, light bitter, grains, sweetness, some metal, orange. Drinkable and some originally taste.

Ljus och klar. Rätt söt smak med ganska anonymt intryck. Inget man kommer minnas ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

50cl Bottle from REWE Stenten. Clear pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of grain, sweet malts, light bread. Flavour is sweet, malty, light bread, tiny hint of toast, very faint grassy bitter finish. Light bodied. So boring it hurts.

Very light golden and completely clear beer with quickly disappearing white head. Low carbonation and low bitterness make for easy drinkability. The beer has a bready maltiness and nothing much else. A beer that anybody can drink and nobody will love.

Swing top bottle. Pale straw yellow body, medium disappearing head. Aroma has some faint hoppiness and light hints of white bread. Thin mouthfeel with papery and slightly lemony hops. Resembles lemon-flavoured carbonated water. Too light and watery to be a good lager. It’s on the same level with some industrial pale lagers but for a German Helles it’s quite poor. Not a good example of the style, in fact it’s best avoided.

Bottle shared at St Judes Tavern, Ipswich. Pours a pale gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of hop, bread and grain. Light/medium body, texture rather thin. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Not really a fan.
