Dry sweet malts. Smells like dark German whole-grain bread. Some hops, but mostly grain & sugar. Light caramel brown clear with off-white fine lacing head. Medium light body, watery but a touch of thickness. Light carbonation. Light sweet & maltiness up front. Big grain (rye, oat) flavor with molasses. Light hops tang, no bitterness. Mild and sweet grainy finish/after. Nice bock.

Malty aroma with milk chocolate. Sweet, malty flavor with a bit of licorice and chocolate. Long coffee bitter finish. Fairly low on carbon.

skortila (4619) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JUL 1, 2003
Skunky aroma, not good. Reminds me of a german pilsener. Appearanve is very clear dark brown coloured. Head doesn't last. Flavor is sweet, malty, bit artificial taste. Boring. But okay. Palate is sticky, sweet bit bitter.

caesar (5319) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUL 1, 2003
Clear brown color, short head. Cheap malty aroma. Caramel taste, sticky and sweet body. I was not impressed by this bock.

Light malty aroma with a creamy, fully dissipating head. Nice amber color, malty flavor, with a medium body. A good bock beer.

Voivod (304) - Como, ITALY - JAN 27, 2003
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2003 Light amber colour, with a good head. The taste is malty and well balanced: not too sweet, not too bitter. One of the best bock around, another great beer from Monschof.

a few things going on: ryebread, toffee, red grapes, a bit of smokiness, but unfortunately overwhelmed by shitloads of soy-sauce and heavy caramel. but then i think that about most bocks.

motelpogo (6968) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 6, 2002
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2004 re-rate - black bean sauce flavour, tapioca and red wine that’s been sitting in a glass for 2 days. copour coller, soft, ginger beery, i like it for some reason. blood and mongolian lamb. a little too thick and heavy feeling in the gut

Brownish amber. Interesting light balsamic toffee aroma. Medium bodied, rather dry. Balanced bitter finish.
