Very aromatic even when cold. Malty in taste and aftertaste with toffee and caramel toast flavor. slight alcohol overtones but nothing that seems too strong.

Rough pour led to thick airy head, thinnning to small rocky beige head. Color is cola, lots of lacing on the glass.Aroma is nutty, caramel, malt.Soft, slick mouthfeel. Taste is smooth and mildly sweet, dark bread, caramel, very mild bitterness. Don’t be fooled by the drinkabliity, this has a fairly high ABV%.

Fresh, sharp aroma. Clear amber color, thick, foamy white head. Sharpish, bitterish taste, but also caramelly. A little bit whiskey-like.

500ml swing-top bottle from Yorma’s in the Munich train station. Pours a clear, rich copper colored body with a two finger-width, dense and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is smooth and malty with a nice caramel and toffee sweetness. A touch of grainy toast, a light dark fruitiness, and a hint of grass. Flavor is similar. A bit of a deeper caramel and toffee maltiness with a hint of toast, a nice dark fruit essence, and just a slight grassy bitterness. Finishes very smooth, clean, and a bit warming before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a soft, moderately lively carbonation. Overall, a solid example of the style. Very smooth, clean, and balanced with a great rich malt backing and just a touch of hops and toast to balance. Good beer.
