COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The naturally-cloudy Mönchshof Kellar beer is the result of Mönchshof's centuries-long brewing tradition and of the love of traditional beer brewing. This amber color, mild beer appeals to lovers of unfiltered beer, the way it used to be. A tradional Mönchshof beer specialty.

Serving: from bottle purchased at Allendörfer. Aroma: lightly floral hoppy. Appearance: average, rocky, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cloudy, medium-amber body. Taste: lightly citrusy initial flavor and finish with average duration. Palate: medium body, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: very good.

Bottle from Cornelius as part of my German beer education. Pours slightly hazy copper with big off white head. Doughy and yeasty nose. Sweet and malty taste. Grassy with light pepper and hops. Fine

Hazy orange with a four finger off-white slowly dissipating head, leaving plenty of lacings. Aroma is fairly malt driven, with honey and bread. Dried fruit, some sweets. A faint tone of grassy hops in the back. Taste is carefully malty at first, then a more massive maltiness of sugar, bread, honey, dried fruit. A slight growing bitterness towards the end, hint of alcohol. Finishes slight bitter. Medium body, medium carbo, slight oily texture. It’s a bit on the sweeter side, I’d like to try this fresh. Best before date january 2015.

Foggy orange brown with beautiful, thick foam. Tastes milky and vegetable bitter, full and malty mouth feel. Interesting acidic hint in the start of the taste.

This is bread, this is really bread. Quite a bit of sweetness, strong bready malt and a kick of mild bitterness on the finish. Excellent body, excellent head. This is a rock-steady bready kellerbier.

Earthy, malty, herbal aroma. Bready taste, herbs again, a bit sweety. Mash character with dirty notes. Not my style..

Bottle from backlog notes. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber/orange color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, some sweet malts, light fruit, grass, earthy character, thin and not very much character.

5.4% about 500 yen from Petit Marche near Imazato station. Served in a dimpled mug. It pours lovely honey brown with a light beige head that leaves a film over the surface of the beer. It has big malty fruity aroma with earthy plum notes. Light bodied with a scratchy carbonation. The taste is chewy malts, grains and light fruits. I don’t know why but I get a distinct breakfast ceral porridge like vibe. Alright I guess.
