4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In my opinion this is a great beer. It has a good caramel, toasty, nut flavor, but not too strong. Since I don’t know much on beers I may be off, but it is a beer I’d drink again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber with medium-fine, uniform, 4mm tan head, medium-fast rate of decay. Aroma is moderate caramel, melanoiden, grapenuts, slightly tart grass, and slightly salty yeasty dough. Body is oily, a touch syrupy, medium-weight, medium-coarse carbonation with moderate burn. Flavor is lightly sweet dough and grapenut, slightly nutty, toast, touch of banana in there. Delicious! what a great sessionable lager! I love the body and the dry-grain quenching flavors.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a darker amber beer with a nice, medium sized white bubbly head on top. Aroma is very malty, some sugary touches, light and subtle. Flavor is medium sweet with a big malty backbone giving it some fruity touches as well. The subtleness of this beer is amazing, yet it’s a bit thin bodied at the same time. Not sure what to think of this. Greatly drinkable, no complexity and thin bodied, but certainly not bad in any way.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Luppolo assente.

I really liked this beer because it is very balanced and has a very yeasty nose. It is refreshing at the start but very soon the malty character takes over. The finish is dry and makes you want to sit down and have another "Seidla" as they call it in Franconia.

500ml bottle - thanks Marduk
Total cardboard aroma. Nice gold, decent head. Thin palate, carbonation quite high. Papery taste too, some weird esters too. Dry, and drying hops, leaves me thirstier than when I started. On a different day I might like this more.

500ml flip-top bottle. Cloudy dark amber color. Small size, bubbly yellow head, stays. Fart, cardboard, malty, acidic notes in aroma. Faint caramel, sweet plain malts in taste. Dusty notes in aftertaste. Some spicy down to earth hops too.

A very mild malt character. You have the impression something’s missing on your tongue. Again a sour side note, typical for the Mönchshof brews, too sparkling and a lack of character. Seen that this beer is unfiltered, I wonder where have all the flavours gone that shouldn’t be filtered out?
Kellerbeers or Zwickels are normally freshly bottled from the kettle, without being filtered. And generally they offer a fresh and voluptious taste due to all the good things that are still in the liquid. And that’s what misses here. Besides the cloudy looks, it has not much in common with it’s style.
