A Maibock with an actual aroma this time: apricot and apple tarte, whiff of herbal hops, Birnenobstler, semi-sec. Tastes like dry apple pie with its crust, the almond malts and fine hop nettle grasses subtly vying for attention. Surge of vanilla, juniper berries, bubblegum and Schnaps upon warming and after further sipping, while remaining well drinkable.

Nice caramel coloured body with a nice one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of grass, light hops, caster sugar, peaches and some decently strong malt. Medium-bodied; Rather malty flavour with some bitter earthy and herbal notes and a hint of sugars noticeable on the end. Aftertaste has more of a caramel and earthy bitter finish, but some light hops and a touch of soap as well. Overall, a nice maibock with a ton of herbal and earthy notes but the most amount of caramel that I’ve seen in the style. Great to try, especially after brought back. I sampled this 50 cL swing-top bottle purchased from Rewe City in Frankfurt, Germany on 19-April-2014 for €0,95 sampled at home in Upstate New York in New Paltz on 14-June-2014, well worth bringing back across the Atlantic

Bottle, 6.9%. Dusty aroma. Clear dark amber colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is quite malty, caramelly, almost sweet. Dusty and slightly papery. Not an exceptional example of the style.

Bottle @ D-Day in Mojnlandet :-) Pours clear amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and yeast, with notes of hops. Sweetish flavour of malt, with notes of yeast and bitter, hoppy notes. Bittersweet aftertaste. Not bad.

Pours amber with a fine white head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel with a light vegetal hints. Taste is malts and caramel again, typical bock profile.
