3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Schwarzbier with light beige, regular, firm and creamy head and dark burgundy colour, clear and blackish. Aroma of pure, sweet caramel malts, chocolate, coffee, peat, grass, liquorice. Caramel, bittersweet taste, rich maltiness, smooth, medium carbo, refreshing sourish touch, ending in an assertive, mouth-filling roasted bitterness in which ’drop’ and spicy hops shine through. Better than average for the style.

Pretty good, typical of the style. Light chocolate sweetness, decent amount of roasty character imparts slight bitterness. Not gonna knock your socks off, though.

Bottle wob cap hill. Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is strong coffee and slight dark chocolate. Body is medium light, spritzy carbonation. Dark malt flavor and light roast up front. Middle leads into a bready toasty malt flavor and it finishes moist and malty sweet. Overall a mostly bitter, roasted, pronounced bitter Sessionable dark lager. Molasses malt flavor lingers. Very awesome brew!

Clear dark ruby brown under a tight foamy light beige head. Wonderful nose of biscuity malts, a touch of cocoa powder, and light toast. Maybe a hint of coffee as well. Tasty flavor of dark cocoa sweetness and biscuity lager malts, a hint of coffee and a dark toast sweetness. Pretty nice.
