Clear dark ruby brown under a tight foamy light beige head. Wonderful nose of biscuity malts, a touch of cocoa powder, and light toast. Maybe a hint of coffee as well. Tasty flavor of dark cocoa sweetness and biscuity lager malts, a hint of coffee and a dark toast sweetness. Pretty nice.

Draught. Pours dark with beige head. Aroma is sweet, dark malty, chocolate, no roastiness. In flavour similar, the beer is quite sweet, roastiness is appearing. Medium bodied, lively carbonated. Sweet schwarzbier - this is not stuf for me/

Appearance is dark brown but not quite black, with ruby hints and a tan, creamy head. Aroma is toast, rich caramel, toffee, and a hint of coffee. Taste is a rich Munich caramel with molasses and a touch of roast coffee. Slight fruitiness and licorice. Definitely more rich caramel character than black roasted malt. Firm, well balanced hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a balanced hop bitterness and a lingering caramel and toasted malt. Overall a very light and drinkable beer considering the dark malt character.

on tap. Creamy brown pour. Aroma of mild malt and soil. Tastes like day old coffee-acidity of coffee is out of control. very slight carb. I can feel the heartburn setting in. I remember this one was good in bottles though.

Bottled, 500ml at Alter Kranen, Wurzburg, Bavaria. Virtually black with cream head. There is certainly a darkly roasted coffee, malt element to this once you have fought your way through over carbonation, damn them. Fruity sweet, some liquorice too, even hints of tar. Getting there.

That’s a bad beer. Tastes like livestock feed/molasses. Who cares about tbe black color and no head.

SWING-TOP 50CL from ciocanelu. Thanks, Silviu. Look: deep red-brown and clear, orange-beige creamy head. Aroma: strong malt character, grainy, toasted, light roast. Taste: dark malts, bready, filter coffee, co2, very weak hop bitterness, a dash of ashes, dry, no caramel sweetness. A good drinkable schwarzbier.
