Bottle from my father (bought in Germany). Dark malty smell with caramel. Similar taste with some roasted aromas. Hard toasted bread. Nice malty beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours a very dark brown color with a large off-white head. The aroma blends roasted malts and some earthy hops, and the taste has some a mild umami, slight malt bitterness, and a touch of sweetness with a really roasty aftertaste. The palate has a slick texture, medium body, and a soft carbonation.

0,5 l bottle. Clear dark brown to black with tan creamy head that leaves nice lacings on the glass. Aroma/taste of dark chocolate, roasted malts, licorice. Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. Quite delicate beer!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20
The aroma of sweet dark malts with perhaps some wood notes drifts up from a solid brown/black pour producing a rapidly dissapating tan head and ringed lacing. The taste is overall politely sweet. Notes of dark rosted malts, subdued sweetness with a dry finish. Medium-light body and medium carbonation. In summary, an enjoyable example of a Schwartzbier. Subdued not robust.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aromat karmelowy, przypieczona skórka od chleba, paloność, troszeczkę owoców, czekolada, z butelki czuć trochę wędzarni. Piwo czarne, nieprzejrzyste, piana solidna, drobna, ładnie zdobi szkło, dość trwała. Smak to lekkie nuty kawowe i tyle, goryczki brak, lekko słodkie. Piwo bardzo pijalne, lekko wysycone, delikatne, wodniste. Ogólnie lekkie piwo codzienne, do posiłku, nic nie urywa, choć aromat bardzo przyjemny.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Raisinny aroma and flavor with roasted malt. Coffee. Very well made beer. Re-rate: tap. Coffe and caramel aroma. Its more a dunkel than a schwarzbier. Sweetish with a hint of licorice and caramel. A late bitterness coming up, partly hops, partly chichory. Unexciting, but good enough.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear dark brown color with a small foamy light khaki head with decent retention, that reduces to a thin lacing cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, toffee, molasses, light dark fruit, and roast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of roast/bready malt and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, toffee, molasses, light dark fruits, and roast/yeast earthiness. Light amount of roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, toffee, molasses, light dark fruit, and roast/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of roast/bready malt and yeast ester flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a very nice schwarzbier style. All around good robustness and complexity of roast/bready malt and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
