A damn good-looking beer! The nose is of roast, malts, milk, and sugar. A pretty complew beer. The taste was woodsy and quenched thirst well. The hops are mild but present. Creamy malt linger. A good choice of beer to pair with good herb, maybe even better than an IPA!

Great tasting beer. Not too hoppy and goes down smooth. Best beer bottle I've ever drank out of.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Strong cocoa and dark chocolate aromas coming off a crystal clear dark brown body with a light ruby tinge and light tan head. Bittersweet and dark chocolate flavors with a light smokiness. Light bodied but it has a nice creaminess. Dry woodiness that sticks to the tongue and lasts through the finish. Very good Schwarzbier. Happy German Beer Day everyone!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml swing-top bottle from Yorma’s in the Munich train station. Pours a clear, deep brown colored body with a slight ruby hue. Two finger-width, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is fairly chocolatey with a nice coffee note and a touch of sweetness. A few dark fruit notes and a bit grainy. Flavor is similar. Nice chocolate backing with a touch of grain and a light caramel sweetness. A few dark fruit notes and a nice coffee finish before this dries out cleanly with a light bitterness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a somewhat lively carbonation. Overall, a really solid schwarz. Clean, very easy drinking, and nicely balanced with a great chocolate and coffee presence. Great beer.
