A damn good-looking beer! The nose is of roast, malts, milk, and sugar. A pretty complew beer. The taste was woodsy and quenched thirst well. The hops are mild but present. Creamy malt linger. A good choice of beer to pair with good herb, maybe even better than an IPA!

Very full, thick and well balanced schwarzbier. Maybe not really unique, still really good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: clear dark mahogany, with two fingers of thick, creamy light beige head shrinking to a thick collar, leaving good lace. Aroma: surprisingly solid nose of sweet milk chocolate, light breakfast roast coffee, caramel, and a hint of white pepper. Taste: sweet and slightly roasty, with chocolate, coffee, cereal grains, a hint of chicory and lemongrass. Finish: crisp and smooth, slowly drying, with slight roasty sweetness lasting. Notes: On the sweet side for a schwarzbier; in fact, one of the sweeter ones I’ve had. Frankly, they pack a wallop of flavor into a lighter beer. Really enjoyable.
