A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Quinns.
Typical very clean gold with a good white head. Lagerish malt aroma with slight egg and grassy hops. Straight down the line German malty stuff in the mouth. Nothing christmassy about this one.

Bottle, bought @ SKY, Germany. Pours golden with a small white film head. Aroma is lightly malty, but not far too sweet with an okay dose of hops. Acceptable mouthfeel for a Märzen, but not too much. Light flavours, rather dry and quite hoppy on top of a relatively subdued malt base. Nice brew, but nothing to do with Christmas.

In the 5Lmini-keg from Dirty John’s Grocery. Pours a deep dark golden color with a large frothy white head. Has a pronounced aroma of oranges and cookie dough. has a medium thickness palate of lemon and malty deliciousness. Smooth and easy to drink, we polished this off in no time on a Memorial Day cookout. This seems much closer to the beer I had in Munich at Die Wiesen than what is sold as Oktoberfest beer here in the US. Importantly, Santa Claus was pictured on the side of the keg.

Sampled from a 5L mini-keg shared by JPDIPSO on 12/16/06: Pours a transparent golden with a frothy, well-lacing white head. Lightly sweet, grainy pale malty aroma. Body starts lightly sweet and malty, smooth, balanced and drinkable with noble hoppy character. An ok Festbier.
