Crystal clear shimmering full gold. Extremely fine bright white fluffy head settles slowly to a complete cap leaving nice lace. Nose is dominated by pure, soft crackery malt. Just oozes class. There’s a slight richness that comes through as the beer warms. Very faint hop, but this is a classic Helles malt fest. Gorgeous stuff. Oh, so lovely in the mouth. Medium-full, with waves and waves of fresh malt caresses every nook and cranny. Beneath this is a real whip crack of hop bitterness that provides excellent foundation and balance. Remarkably long and lingering. Tiniest hint of heat shows as it warms, which keeps this at a 4.5. Amazing mouthfeel. This is one of those magic beers that just fills the mouth and glides down the throat. This really deserves more than a 5 for drinkability. So fresh, so wonderful, what do you mean the 5l mini keg is gone? Been through two mini-kegs of this so far this holiday season, and looking very much forward to my third.

OK, so I admit it, I’m a total Monchshoff fan-boy. I think they’re one of the best lager producers in the world. This beer is no exception. It’s crystal clear with an assertive and lingering ivory head. Quick prickle of noble hops and a deep, warm and rounded malt character. A sharp needle of bitterness as it warms, just teasing the palate. Drink some more. Finish is the sharp prickle of bitterness and a lingering Munichey sweetness. Subtlety, depth and refinement. Beautiful.

Test vom 19.11.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 14,13,13,11,11,12 - 12,30

Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells of floral hops, toasted malt, some rosey hints. Tastes of sweet malt, some crisp spicy hints and a floral finish.

Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of pivnizub. Beautiful deep golden with a nicely remainig lacing head. Both nose and taste really remind me of persimmon. A flawless beer with plenty of character. Nice malt and hop profile. Spicy, biscuity, highly drinkable and surprisingly warming on the swallow- without being alcoholic. Balanced finish which is reminiscent of dried apricot, candy floss and persimmon. Absolutely top notch Weihnachtsbier. Thanks a lot pivnizub!

500 ML fliptop bottle from shrubber85. The beer is meant to be had on a cold winterday at an outdoor feast. It goes well with the spiced sauages and xmas foods found in Germany at these feasts. A spicy well made beer with a great head and is a very good beer.

Golden color with a taller off-white head. Aromas of light sweet pale malt and floral hops. Smooth pale malt flavors. Mild toast and caramel in the finish. A touch watery, but a very easy quaff.

Great appereance (just as all the Monchsof beers), good head. the taste is malty and sweet, a little bit stronger than the other pilseners brewed by Kulmbacher. A good one, but not the best from this brewery.

In the 5Lmini-keg from Dirty John’s Grocery. Pours a deep dark golden color with a large frothy white head. Has a pronounced aroma of oranges and cookie dough. has a medium thickness palate of lemon and malty deliciousness. Smooth and easy to drink, we polished this off in no time on a Memorial Day cookout. This seems much closer to the beer I had in Munich at Die Wiesen than what is sold as Oktoberfest beer here in the US. Importantly, Santa Claus was pictured on the side of the keg.
