On tap at Kulshan Brewing, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, citrus hops, and a little candied sweetness. Flavour brings out medium roasted malts, some moderately harsh citrus hops, but not overly harsh as in some black IPAs. Well-balanced between malts and hops. Textbook, well-executed black IPA.

Sampled at GABF 2012. Love the spelling on this one. Hop mix was nice but it didnít make me think that this style works. Good bitterness but the mix of that and the roasty was a little off for me.

Another great Kulshan brew, and a solid CDA thatís right in line with the best of them out there. Malt flavors are rich and robust with tasty elements of cocoa, rounded roastiness and a hint of dark chocolate. Hops are bold yet balanced. Lots of pine, citrus and grass. Dry, bitter finish cleaves off the sweetness nicely.

Fruity floral hop nose, some tropical some citrus on top pf roasted malts se light caramel sweetness. A touch earthy. Black pour, tan head, good lace. Light roast up front nice hop flavor throughout. Fruity and citrusy, becomes a tad floral. Touch of sweetness underneatg. A bit earthy as well. Dry, moderate bitterness. Well done.
