Woh - bread pudding! Big sweet malts and raisins. Slightly gravy-like taste, but apart from that, it’s very sweet and hugely full bodied. Rich toffeeness in the mouth, and the burnt corners of bread pudding.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 PoMo (6) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 8, 2008 does not count
Sadly, I had a bottle of this one day after it’s best before date. It has not travelled or aged well, the high alcohol being its saving grace, keeping this beer drinkable. Lovely colour and appearance. Served in 1/2 pint dimple glass. Aroma was harsh esters and some caramel underneath hot alcohol. Flavour reminded me of an over-aged home brewed doppelbock. I can imagine what this beer would have tasted like fresh. Shame that it had to cross the equator and so long ago. Hope to find one closer to its home and try again.

Clear reddy amber body with a minimal lasting head. Malty toffee aroma without much difference in the taste . Alcohol is present but not too much to the front, body is ok and gets easier to drink towards the end of the stubby though one was enough.
